I''m newbie to rails application.
I like to use script.aculos.us script in my app.
I faced the following problem.
1. first i creat my application.
2. Then I copied the files
scriptaculous.js, builder.js, effects.js, dragdrop.js, controls.js and
slider.js
and prototype.js
into my app/public/javascripts/
3. Then included the <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> code into
head

Extend Draggable
Hello all,
I want to extend a draggable object so it has one more attribute (type
attribute, so I can distinguish different draggable types).
Can anyone tell me how to do it?

declaring draggable object that holds it position
Hi i posted this question earlier on how to create a droppable div(New to
Ajax), and i have just realised that my code does work, however the function
doesn''t work the way I expected it to, I would like my draggable to remain

Draggable - how start action on start dragging and end action on droppping
Hi all. I have got situation that I made element draggable - and
when element is dragged I want to start some action (e.g. shown
AJAX indicator, and change one of CSS class in dragging element).
What is the best way to achieve this? I search source code of the

Draggables and overflow div''s revisited
I have two scrollable div''s (overflow:auto), one with
a list of elements (the source) and the other is the
drop target (dest).
I''ve enabled ghosting so that the drag element gets
out of the scrollable box (good).

[protoype] Problem with Effects on draggable element if revert is true
hi,
I have a draggable element (cart-item) in a shopping cart
<%= draggable_element "item_#{product}_#{i}", :revert => true %>
When this element is dragged outside the cart into the "main_div", I want to
show a puff effect and remove the element. When it is dragged within the
cart, it should revert.

Capturing the position of a draggable element
I would like to capture the position of a draggable element after it''s
being dragged, but I am running into problem using several options, such
as "change", "revert" and "onEnd". My callback handler would only fire
when the page loads, and not when the element is dragged. How can I make
this happen?

effects in 1.6.0
Hi all,
I just tried the latest version and saw that parts of my page stopped
working. I debugged some and found out that the error is somewhere in
the effects.js file. Cause if I upload the older effects.js with the
latest files then it all works. I also found out that the ''new
Draggable(..'' effect was the cause of the error since it works with the
latest effects.js if I

Draggable performance issues
Using the script.aculo.us Draggables, I''m noticing they are a bit less
than fast. I drag them around on the screen and they jump and glitch to
catch up with the mouse.
Has anyone else noticed this, and are there any optimizations that have
been identified that I can apply? I''m using v. 1.5

sortables callbacks
i know someone just recently asked about queueing ajax requests, my
question is similar in the regards that i don''t want my application to
send multiple requests. i have 2 sortabbles lists left, and right. when

overloading dragdrop.js

I have written a little rails app where you can create
divs and move them around via Thomas'' wonderful
dragdrop.js. I would like to be able to fire an AJAX
event to update the top and left of the dragged object

I have two fixes in a text file. I created the diff using "diff -u", so
I hope you can apply the patch. The file is attached.
I never could get my optional ''scroll when the dragged element goes
outside the scrolled element'' thing to work. I got it to start
scrolling correctly, but then it would start making increasingly big
jumps and basically scroll out of control.

AJAX Drag and Drop Detecting Drop Coordinates
This one''s kicking me in the *(&#^. All I want to do is create a draggable
item and then detect the coordinates where it is dropped. So my first
approach was to just use the draggable_element with :revert => false, like
so:
