Differentiating between normal site content and accounts with subdomains

Firefox and IE performance with Rails App
In my rails application, certain computers were having huge problems.
There were certain pages that were exceptionally slow, even to the point
of timing out. Other computers did not have a problem. I finally found
that Firefox was the difference. When using Firefox on those computers
it works fine. The slow pages were typically posting a form with a
couple hundred fields.

Rails + SOAP ?
Hello-
I have a Rails web app that is database-centric (go figure). What I
would like to do is expose certain parts of this database to an
application running on a Windows box (or whatever). For the moment,
let''s consider the read-only case, but authentication will be required.
Is SOAP what would be used for something like this? Are there better

students to be able to access their unix home drives on our server via

uploading an image to a Rails app
Hi,
I want to upload a product image to my rails app. I only want to store
the file name in the database and the actual image file in
public/image/. This seems complicated with file_field. Any pointers or
links with explainations?

Is this a HAS_ONE bug?
Let''s say I have:
A BELONGS_TO B
B HAS_ONE A (with :dependent=>:nullify)
But this association does not need to exist. In other words, I could
have many A''s and B''s that are not associated in this manner.

Slow uploading with sftp
Hi,
I'm observing a nasty and strange behaviour with OpenSSH
(SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.7.1p2) on Solaris 8 (Sparc). I searched the FAQ and
list archive and I didn't find anything about it.
The problem is that uploading through sftp is tremendously slow (~
0.2KB/s) while downloading is ok (~ 200-300 KB/s), so I'm quite surprised.

It depends a bit on what you plan to do with the results. A loop would be easy and straightforward:

AJAX to a table row
Hello-
I''d like to throw a little AJAX into a table to allow the user to edit a
single row of data inline rather than moving to another page.
The row (which has N columns) would be swapped out for a row which has a
single column (colspan="N") and the form inputs would be in that row.
My question is, is this legal HTML? I can''t find anything that says
either way.
