Gamma function for complex arguments
Hi everybody,
unfortunately, the gamma function for complex arguments is not
implemented in R (Base package). Are there any
packages/functions or approximations to solve that problem?
Thanks in advance,
Matthias

Dear all,
is there a R-command similar to "dos" in S-Plus?

\mathcal symbols in R?
Hello,
Some time ago, I discovered the possibility of using mathematical
symbols for axis labels etc. In order ensure consistency between text
and graphics of some paper, I would like to include the calligraphic H
(obtained in LaTeX via \mathcal{H}) in several diagrams. Is there any
way to do so? Is it in general possible to use further mathematical
fonts like \mathbb and \mathbf in R?

How to find the zero (only the real solution) with the package polynom ?
Hello,
I have 3 columns : a, b and a*b
I would like to find the pair (a,b) so that a*b is the minimum but not from
the points I measured but from the fit of the curve (I have more points that
the ones given below but I fit only on this part because I
know that the minimum a*b is in this interval).
I thought doing it this way :
- to fit a*b=f(a)
abfit<-lm(ab ~ poly(a,8,raw=T))
- to use the

R-alpha: polynom add-on
I've packaged Bill's polynom add-on for R (i.e., converted man pages and
took care of TITLE and INDEX). Apart from the missing poly() everything
should be fine ...
The package can be found in the CRAN src/contrib area.
I've also added it to the Debian ix86 r-contrib package.

polynom Fit
Please, I'm a beginner with the R language. I'm looking for a function to
compute a Polynomfit for simple x-y Data. Who can help?

solving 10oth-order polynom
I'm one of the many who is far more interested in the reason for the
request than in the numerical method to use. The way I see it, the
methodology of, say, polyroot() suffices in a mathematical sense. If
your coefficients are mathematically exact (as opposed to measured
values), the near-singularities and such don't really matter, assuming
infinite precision math. So, what

[PATCH/DRAFT] Embed metadata into object file
Hi,
so this is my first contribution to LLVM/clang, so I hope I come close
to the required coding standards and guidelines.
First, I will describe the scenario I want to solve: For a few days, the
clang plugin interface allows to execute the a plugin just before the
actual main action (e.g., compiling an translation unit). In my case,
the plugin we're developing will analyze the AST and

Puzzling coefficients for linear fitting to polynom
Hi,
I can not comprehend the linear fitting results of polynoms. For
example, given the following data (representing y = x^2):
> x <- 1:3
> y <- c(1, 4, 9)
performing a linear fit
> f <- lm(y ~ poly(x, 2))
gives weird coefficients:
> coefficients(f)
(Intercept) poly(x, 2)1 poly(x, 2)2

However the fitted() result makes sense:

Is CIFS HA Aware ?
Good Day,
We use a lot of DFS Shares (Windows) across our Linux Servers. The DFS
Shares are setup in a Cluster. Over the weekend we did a DR excercise which
included shutting down one of the Servers that hosted the DFS Shares.
What we found is that any Linux Server that had associated itself with the
DFS Server that was shutdown did not try and connect to the remaining
Server that was up.

Bug 12518 - smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' for DFS generates STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
This issue is reproducible for this customer and a couple of others. We execute the smbclient command the same way for each instance. The null user name is valid syntax sent from the smbclient. When we send the command " smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' ", samba code executes starting with Negotiate Protocol Request, and onward. I'm guessing this could be a DFS issue, but

DFS Shares (Clustered)
Good Day,
We experience the following when we have outages or perform disaster
recovery exercises.
Our DFS Shares come from a Windows cluster with 2 servers, each one in
a different location. When the server that we have active connections
to goes offline, the server has an issue connecting to the second
server. This even happens under a controlled shutdown and startup
situation.
If we

Bug 12518 - smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' for DFS generates STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
I am wondering if anyone has had a chance to look at bug 12518? This is the context of the message:
Wireshark trace gives a STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER when running smbclient -c 'cd <dir>;ls' as a standalone program. This is a customer issue. We cannot recreate this issue so we're looking for why this may be happening. From the trace you'll see multiple sessions with

smbstatus shows the connection as NT1.
DFS links do work like this:
serverA_msdfsrootYES => serverB_msdfsrootNO
But not like this:
serverA_msdfsrootYES => serverB_msdfsrootYES
Somehow the destination having 'msdfsroot yes' prevents the cifs kernel
module from

Snapper packages for Ubuntu
Hi,
I''ve created snapper packages for Ubuntu, available on

snapper, it''s a tool for managing btrfs snapshots

available from https://launchpad.net/~bjoern-esser-n/+archive/blocxx ,
and currently uses git source up to commit 50dec40. I''ve done

per share way to not follow msdfs links
Re-sending with right email...
msdfs root is set to "no" by default and is per-share.
[myshare]
msdfs root = no
path = ...
Should do the trick.
Otherwise if mounting on linux you can also use the 'nodfs' mount option
(mount.cifs //host/share/... /mnt/ -o ...,nodfs) to disable DFS
resolving and automatic sub-mounting.
