trouble building r-devel
I haven't been able to build yesterday's R-devel (or, as a test, R-devel_2005-03-11) on Windows XP. The error message I'm getting is to do with 'arithmetic.c', as shown below. Current R-patched seems to build fine, and I've built previous R-devels from source fairly often in the past-- though I have no understanding whatsoever of what's going on. FWIW the only changes

error compiling R-code
Hi, I have been compiling R from source code with regularity (both R-patched and R-devel) for several months now. About two/three weeks ago I noticed a compilation error in R-devel (see below). I thought that the error will go away in "due course" so I did not investigate it further. Then I left on vacation. I just downloaded both versions of R sources (i.e., 2.2.0 patched and

Dear R users, I've been trying to build R from sources (in Windows) using Dr. Goto's BLAS, unsuccessfully! Repost: Help - compilation of winbind_nss_solaris.c/3.0.21a/Solaris 7 and older fails
I would really appreciate help ! I did not have any reply to my two posts and I don't know what to do. I can't build 3.0.21a and I have to migrate 54 Solaris 2.5.1 servers from 2.2.8a to 3.0.x. I'm afraid we could not move to newer solaris versions before 12 or 18 months. Under is the problem description. Thank you for your help. Pierre --------- SOLARIS 7 --------- On Solaris 7

Aranda-Ornaz links for binary data
Hi, I would like apply different link functions from Aranda-Ordaz (1981) family to large binary dataset (n = 2000). The existing links in glm for binomial data (logit, probit, cloglog) are not adequate for my data, and I need to test some other transformations. Is it possible to do this in R? And how? Thank you for your help, /Sharon

[Newbie Q] Relay to an Icecast server apparently not relaying?
The main stream is going to a Shoutcast server via Winamp. Works fine. A Relay stream goes to Live365. Works fine. I set up a Relay under SAM to point to the Icecast server running on another box on the network. In SAMs Realy section it tells me that it's connected - and Icecast seems to be telling me the same thing. Obviously I'm missing something in the setup of IceCast - I think?

Bug: Copying several files to non-directory.
Dear openssh people, Here's something to try: $ echo a >a $ echo b >b $ echo c >c $ $ scp a b c $ $ echo $? 1 $ cat a b c a b b Ouch! Also, for comparison: $ cp a b c cp: copying multiple files, but last argument `c' is not a directory Try `cp --help' for more information. $ rcp a b c rcp: c: Not a directory. $ Note that the cp behavior is specified in SuSv2.

I just finished up a port of Andy Polyakov's excellent dvd+rw-tools to FreeBSD, and he has incorporated the patches into his release: http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/ http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/ http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/tools/ (version 5.8.4.4.4) These tools support DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW format dvd burners, including the popular Sony

Cross build Makefile
Hello, I am trying to use Yan and Rossini's Makefile for cross building Windows versions of R packages in Linux with R 1.9.0. When compiling R with the mingw tools I get an error about expm1 being undeclared when first found at src/main/arithmetic.c:1019 If I fiddle a bit with it later on I also get errors about log1p bein undeclared. Any idea what should I look for? I am using R 1.9.0 in

Mixture of Univariate Normals
Dear list, Can anyone provide a package or code for estimating the parameters of a mixture of c (c >=2) univariate normal distributions? I've tried the algorithm provided by Venables & Ripley (1999) p 263, for the mixture of two normal, but I don't find the "ms" function in R. I've used nls instead, but I'm not sure if it works the same. The data I have is very

Installation of R-4.3.1 with intel 2022
Note that 'intel 2022' is a bit vague. The current version is 2023.1.0, and that has both the 'classic' (icc/icpc/ifort which it seems you used) and new (icx/ixpx/ifx) compilers -- the former are said to be going to be discontinued later this year. R did not know about ifx so did not build with the new set. The parts of the manual Tomas referred to were about the old
