error with bbox for k12hat (splancs) bivarite k-function
Hello, I am trying to conduct a bi-variate ripley's k using the k12hat function in the splancs package (found here http://rss.acs.unt.edu/Rdoc/library/splancs/html/k12hat.html). Although, I receive an error when getting to the bboxx part of the code: poly <- list(x=c(fire4$X, nar4$X), y=c(fire4$Y, nar4$Y)) plot(seq(5,80,5), sqrt(k12hat(fire4), as.points(nar4),

Bivariate Ripley K function
Hello, I have used the univariate Ripley K function in R, but does anyone know if there is a bivariate function built in? I have two species that I am dealing with. Also, how might I add error bars into the graphs (univariate and/or bivariate)? help on spatial data
Hi, I have a dataset with x and y coordinates and in each point I have an identity of point, in some cases I can have more then one identity by point. My dataset is something like this: > x <- rep(c(1:4),4) > y <- rep(c(1:4),c(4,4,4,4)) > area1 <- sample(factor(rep(c("a","b","c","d"),4))) > area2 <-

Appropriate method for sharing data across functions
In trying to streamline various optimization functions, I would like to have a scratch pad of working data that is shared across a number of functions. These can be called from different levels within some wrapper functions for maximum likelihood and other such computations. I'm sure there are other applications that could benefit from this. Below are two approaches. One uses the <<-

Cross K Ripley's function and "spatio-temporal interaction power"
Dear All, I have a collections of spatial data. I have to analyze pairs of these point patterns to test their spatial interaction. I was moving towards the cross K Ripley's function. The problem, however, are the following: 1) What is the best way to get a single real value that represents the interaction "power"? 2) How to obtain a value that even allows me to rank the pairwise

Confidence intervals in Ripley's K function - a little challenge...
I have plotted Ripley's K function for a spatial point pattern for 12 plots, with 39 Monte Carlo simulations for complete spatial randomness (CSR). I would like to analyse these data as follows: I would like to know for which plots the Ripley's K function deviates from CSR at a number of confidence intervals, namely 90%, 95% and 99%. I realise that simulation envelope I have produced

bivirate k-function
Hi Is there anyone who can help a reporter (me) with the following: I want to use the bivirate k-function to determin if burgerbars are clustered around schools. To that purpose I’ve been told to use the bivirate k-function, but my program Arcview doesn’t contain that. Im stuck on a dead end – how to I for a start get the data into R? Ripley's K function within envelope--how to change the maximum distance?
Hi--I'm trying to run a Ripley's K analysis on a point pattern within a window of 1 square km. The maximum distance I want to use is the diagonal of the window, around 1400m, run in 50m increments. The function defaults to a 250m maximum--I thought this was simply the way I had plotted it, but when I exported the data there was nothing over 250m. I've looked into seq and ginterval,

porting splancs library to R
I am trying to port the splancs library for S++ version 4.0 to R. I have modified the original FORTRAN to use dllwrap/dlltool (e.g. removed common blocks). I have been able to generate dll's (splancs.dll) using dllwrap/dlltool and Ming32 g77 with a -mdll switch. As of yet I have not been able to generate a dll that can be loaded by R. Does anyone out there have any suggestions. An example

Avoiding loops to spare time and memory
Is it possible to avoid the loop in the following function (or make the function otherwise more efficient) and can someone point me to a possible solution? (It would be great if hours could be reduced to seconds :-). # --------------------------------------------- RanEigen=function(items=x,cases=y,sample=z) { X=matrix(rnorm(cases*items),nrow=cases, byrow=F) S=crossprod(X-rep(1,cases) %*%

space-time k function problem
I am intersted in time-space clustering of local industry. I made the point file, polygons and time table then run 'stkhat' function in Splancs, but it generates only time k function. I noticed that it has only one ks value. ... Can anybody help me?. thanks in advance. countiespt <- read.table('d:/dissertation/dailynew/jun10/countiespt_ok.txt', sep=",")

Repeating
Dear All, I have a codes which calculates the result of Ripley's K function of my data. I want to repeat this process 999 times. However, i am getting an error when i use the "for i in" function. Is there any way to repeat this analysis 999 times. Here are the codes i used ; data4 <- matrix(c(sample(id),data1),203,3) a <- data4[,1] random.case=data4[a==0,]

how to change my data to "point data set" in package "SPLANCE"?
Hi! I want to use the package "SPLANCE" to do Ripley's K analysis I have a basic question about the package. I try to find how to do it, but I cannot. I hope you can help me. Installing splancs_2.01-9 on Red Hat Linux 7.3
Hi all, I'm trying to install the splancs contributed package on a Redhat 7.3 system with R 1.5.1 installed. I've installed the readline41-4.1-10 RPM which Redhat requires for R and it works great, thanks very much. However, when I attempt to R CMD INSTALL splancs_2.01-9.tar.gz as root, I get the following error message during the install: [snip] g77 -fPIC -O2 -m486

Question:manipulating spatial data using combination of Maptools and Splancs
Hi, I have a problem that concerns combination of the package Maptools and Splancs I have 2 shapefiles that i want to manipulate (one of type point and one polygon).I import them in R using Maptools but then i can't estimate a quartic Kernel using Splancs. The package doesn't recognize the shapes (invalid points and poly argument).I don't know if this is an easy task but i have
