max_prepared_stmt_count exceeded using RODBC + 64-bit win7
Hi I am running R2.15.2 64-bit on Windows 7, using RODBC 1.3-6, MySQL5.5.20, MySQL Connector 5.5.2 - these are the latest 64-bit versions AFAIK. sqlQuery and sqlSave work fin as expected, but in a long session with a few sqlSave() calls, I get an error, for example: Error in sqlSave(channel = channel, dat = USArrests[, 1, drop = FALSE], : HY000 1461 [MySQL][ODBC 5.2(w)

Problem with ODBC access to SQL database
I have the following problem in getting the "sqlSave" function from the example code in the R package RODBC to work with MySQL as ODBC server: - a new database is created, but no data is written to it - the example code works just fine when I use MS Access as ODBC server. ----------- offending code and output ------------------- > library(RODBC); > channel <-

Problem with RODBC sqlSave
Hi, I'm able to establish a successful odbc connection using RODBC 1.3-2 on Win 7 and R 2.12.0. But I'm getting the following error message when I try to save a data frame into the debase as shown below. library(RODBC) bbdb <- odbcConnect("bbdb") odbcGetInfo(bbdb) # returns ok sqlSave(bbdb, USArrests, rownames = "state", addPK=TRUE) # example from the RODBC manual

sqsSave() test using Test.R script returning error suggesting no values upon "insert"
Hi. I attempted to use RODBC and decided to execute all the tests provided in "Test.r" under the unpacked package RODBC folder. Beginning with the following: library(RODBC) library(MASS) USArrests[1,2] <- NA hills <- hills[1:15,] row.names(hills)[12] <- "Dollar ('$')" set.seed(1) # MySQL ## testdb3 is ODBC/Connector 3.51.x, testdb5 is 5.1.x channel <-

What is the 'scale' in princomp() function?
Dear R users, When I tried to use princomp() from stats packages to do Principal Components Analysis, I am not very clear what is the "scale". And the scores are different from "PROC PRINCOMP" procedure from SAS. Using the example data from this package: restpc <- princomp(USArrests, cor = TRUE) > restpc$scale Murder Assault UrbanPop Rape 4.311735 82.500075

Searching for a string in RSQLite
I'd like to search for a particular string in an SQLite database using RSQLite, but I'm running into problems constructing the query properly, because of embedded quotes and parens in the string. Is there a function that escapes these for me, or some other fixup that would let me do the queries below? In the real situation I don't have control over what strings get searched for.

R crashes when using the RODBC Package
Hi, I've written some code that fetches data from an Access Database (2003), processes the data, then saves the modified data back into a table in the Access database. It works if I only pass through the code once, but if I put a loop around the code so that I fetch data from a different source table, and then save it again to a different destination table, the code crashes. It is

EPS->LaTeX problem
Greetings- I have a strange problem displaying a graph from R (1.3.1, linux) in a LaTeX document of documentclass seminar. I'm using graphicx to include the file: \usepackage{graphicx} ... \resizebox{\textwidth}{\textheight}{\includegraphics{crime.eps}} When I do this, the entire slide (including the page number) is rotated 180 degrees. Any ideas why this happens? The graph was created

data format of x in x <- sqlQuery()
All When I read data into an R variable x using RODBC command: x <- sqlQuery(channel,"select a, b from tabl",as="data frame") and view x, I get 3 columns the first one being the index of the rows in x. What options do I use in sqlQuery so as not have the index in x ? How do I get rid of the index otherwise. For some functions like princomp (and boxplot) for
