Are you experienced in SAS and R as well? Which of these would you recommend?
Hello! Disapointed about SPSS I have to choose another statistic program. And altough I sympathise with the idea of a non-commercial software-project like R and I like the spirit of the R community (and of course I am not keen on paying 150$ to SAS for a one-year students license), I will probably buy SAS, because people I will work with use SAS and I want a close cooperation with them. Besides I

Are you experienced in SAS ...
I'd just like to put in my two bob's worth: The ***only*** thing for which I prefer SAS to R/Splus, but it's a very important thing, is the analysis of mixed linear models. One can do the same analyses in both languages. The difference is that the SAS syntax for specifying such a model, and its output, is comprehensible to the human mind, which is what I'm equipped with. The

Offtopic: Which SAS / SATA HBA do you recommend?
Hi all, Sorry for the offtopic question. I hope though that others on this list or reading the archive find the answers useful too. It seems the Adaptec 1405 4port SAS HBA I bought only works with RHEL and SuSE through a closed source driver, and thus is quite useless :-( I was stupid enought to think "Works with RHEL and SuSE" meant "Certified for RHEL and SuSE, but driver in

Are these BUGS? anyone experienced either of these?
I have experienced a couple of (minor) problems with Samba Thought I would report these and ask if they are known problems. 1. Problem with "!" in username map file 2. Samba tools e.g. smbstatus, testparm not accounting for "config file" parameter 1. There appears to be a problem with a minor part of username map file interpretation. When I put an exclamation mark

Have you ever experienced this problem with REAL in a C code
Dear all, I'm currently experiencing big troubles with my C code called by .Call in a R function. I know this may not be the right place for such things but these errors are driving me crazy. And I hope other people may have already experienced these problems so that they could give me good suggestions. Sorry if I'm completely out of topic. Well let's go... I'm writing a

SAS to R: I would like to replicate a statistical analysis performed in SAS in R.
Hello everybody, A statistician performed an analysis in SAS for me which I would like to replicate in R. I have however problems in figuring out the R code to do that. As I understood it was a "covariance regression model". In the analysis, baseline was used as covariate and autoregressive (1) as covariance structure. The model included baseline, session, group and interaction

What hardware would you recommend?
I have 3 locations I want to connect using (*) servers. 1 of those has a single BRI with a Siemens DECT PABX. 1 of those has two BRI's with 2 Siemens DECT PABX's, each serving a different area. 1 of those has two BRI's and a 2 port Nova Compact PABX with DECT First step would be to set up the (*) servers and have them interconnected. When all of that works we'd go on to connect

How would you recommend I create a new layer of data...
Two parts are marked below... *If anyone remembers, I have been working on a new feature for vorbis. I am creating another piece of data showing non audio interpretation of music to help visual, beat and other aspects of audio that can't be interpreted by a computer but only entered with the human touch. SAS to R - if you have SAS 8.2+
Hi there, the attached R function uses the SAS Integrated Object Model (IOM) and it can deal with SAS dates and long variable names. All you need to provide is the folder where the SAS data file is and the data file name without the extension. The function requires the rcom package. This is meant to be first cut...but improvements and suggestions are more than welcome! Gyula import.sas.data
