RMA question
Can anybody explain why RMA has to have a default normalization method: quantile-quantile? Why don't leave the choices to users? If I just want to use RMA to do a background correction without normalization, how should I specify the ? in the normalize.method="?" ? Hairong [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

How often should an encrypted session be rekeyed?
Using OpenSSL, is there a preferred/recommended rate of rekeying an encrypted stream of data? Does OpenSSL handle this for developers behind the scenes? Does it even need to be rekeyed? wav/raw normalization
Hey all. I was an "early" adopter of mp3 (1994-1995), and I took great pains to use digital audio extractors and avoid jitter and whatnot thru proper hardware - back then, this was no mean feat. Well, I'm starting to switch to Ogg (dragging out all the CD's, starting over) and I want to know if anyone has an informed opinion on the merits or demerits of "normalization"

one day AD use -> samba-tool dbcheck reports "Normalisation error for attribute 'objectClass'"
Hi all, Our migration is coming along nicely, everything seems to work like it should... I thought... Only samba-tool dbcheck reports five errors: root at dc1:~# samba-tool dbcheck Checking 1143 objects ERROR: Normalisation error for attribute 'objectClass' in 'CN=phdseminar,CN=Users,DC=my,DC=samba,DC=domain' Values/Order of values do/does not match: ['top',

Continuous Normalisation error for attribute whenCreated when performing dbcheck
Hi all, since the migration of our old Win2k domain to Samba4 some years ago I get a lot of errors like the following when doing a "samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix" : ERROR: Normalisation error for attribute whenCreated in CN=rpc-Ns-Group,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=samdom,DC=com value '19700101000000.0Z' should be '16010101000000.0Z' Fix normalisation for

Expression Interpolation and ActiveRecord relationships
All, I''m having some difficulties with the #{} replacements in ActiveRecord that I haven''t seen mentioned on the list. I have a number of has_many relationships that use finder_sql queries dependent on dynamic data. I''ve seen that you need to single-quote the queries to make your terms work, and that''s been good for simple cases. What I''ve found

newb trying to figure out ActiveRecord relationships
3 tables. item, brand, commercial item -------- id name brand_id name brand --------- id name commercial ---------- id item_id The idea is that a commercial will have one item. each item will have brand. and a brand may have zero to many items. I can''t figure out how to make the relationships for my models. Eventually, i''d like to be able to show a brand name from a

How to use arbitrary relationships in Activerecord
How can I ask ActiveRecord to make it''s "has_many" code to work on some arbitrary relationship between two tables? ie neither field is a primary key The situation is that I am writing a Postfix management application and one of the tables to manage is the "alias" table. My primary key in the "mailbox" table is "id", but the alias table is just

prcomp - surprising structure
Hello, I did a pca with over 200000 snps for 340 observations (ids). If I plot the eigenvectors (called rotation in prcomp) 2,3 and 4 (e.g. plot (rotation[,2]) I see a strange "column" in my data (see attachment). I suggest it is an artefact (but of what?). Suggestion: I used prcomp this way: prcomp (mat), where mat is a matrix with the column means already substracted followed by a

Newbie - ActiveRecord relationships
So I''ve worked through Agile Web Development with Rails and I''m now trying my first little app to get into the swing of things. Its a task tracking app where people can create tasks and assign them to others, and also log time against the tasks. I''m having trouble working out the model relationships. This is what I''ve got so far, but its not right as

ActiveRecord::Associations ER diagram/macros
Hello, I found an interesting ER diagram on the "Module: ActiveRecord::Associations::ClassMethods" page of the Rails Framework Documentation : http://ar.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveRecord/Associations/ClassMethods.html At the beginning we can read ? Associations are a set of macro-like class methods for tying objects together through foreign keys. They express relationships like

ActiveRecord associations: design question
Hi guys, In my Rails app, I have three models: A, B and C, with the following relationships: - B hasMany C - C belongsTo B I would like A to "has_one" instance of B+C. By that I mean A needs to be linked to a specific instance of B AND a specific instance of C. My first guess would be to create a fourth object, say B_plus_C that would: - belongs to B - belongs to C - belongs to A Is

confused about ActiveRecord relationships
I am very confused about where to put the belongs_to and the has_one (and other relationship identifiers). I have read the RDoc and the agile book many times about this and I think i still see it backwards. Let me outline my app so you have an understanding... I have 2 tables: Schools { id, school_name, address_id } and Addresses { street1, street2, city, state, zip, country } *** this

In 1.5.1 I used the following commands to normalise the variable "logratio", over a 2d surface (defined by coordinates x and y): > array <- read.table("121203B_QCnew.txt", header=T, sep="\t") > array$logs555<-log(array$s555)/log(2) > array$logs647<-log(array$s647)/log(2) >

Ask for advice on exact requirements to fix #699 mixed CJK numbers
Thanks for your patience. I'm still confused of what I should do next. If it's not worth changing anything here as it's a rare case, sorry for my PR to github before the reply, maybe you need to close it on github. For another case, should I optimize current code with replacing set to a static array? Or rollback current modification to cjk-tokenizer and try to do some work with the
