Problem in loading all packages all at once
Hi All
Please see the Rprofile file which i have modified as follows and after
that when I start R then I see that R says to me "TRUE" for all the
packages implying that all loaded at once.
But when i try to use commands as simple as help("lm"), it doesnt work nor
any of the menu "Packages" is not working.
Although the regression using lm ( Y ~ X ) is working

orphaning CRAN packages
Dear R Developers,
the following CRAN packages do not cleanly pass R CMD check for quite
some time now and did not have any updates since the time
given. Several attempts by the CRAN admins to contact the package
maintainers had no success.

loading packages
Thanks to Roger for pointing out the packages spweights and sptests to
me. I believe they will be quiet useful in my work. But... I can't get
them to work!
Firstly, I realised that a newer version of R is available. I have now
downloaded and installed it. When I try to 'install packages from CRAN'
I get:

Prediction method for lowess,loess,lokerns,lpepa,ksmooth
Hi Every Body,
I don't know why some regression functions have no related prediction function. For example lowess, loess, lokerns, lpridge, lpepa, and ksmooth.
What could help? Is there any global or wrapper function so that can help?
Regards,

Looking for new maintainer of orphans R2HTML SemiPar cghseg hexbin lgtdl monreg muhaz operators pamr
Dear maintainers and R-devel,
Several orphaned CRAN packages are about to be archived due to
outstanding QC problems, but have CRAN and BioC packages depending on
them which would be broken by the archival (and hence need archiving
alongside).
Therefore we are looking for new maintainers taking over maintainership
for one or more of the following packages:

statistics for ragged arrays: loop to vector
Dear R users,
I am currently writing a MCMC algorithm for spatial Poisson model. One
problem which I need to solve is as follows:
I have a vector X[1:J] which describes characteristics of cells of a
rectangular grid. Further, for each cell I have a list of adjascent
cells adj[] and the vector listing numbed of adjascent cells num[].
Thus if I want to list cells adjascent to cell i I write

Using permax with Data Frame Containing Missing Values
I'm new to this site so I hope this isn't too naive a problem. I'm trying
to use the permax function with a data frame containing gene expression
measurements taken from 79 microarray experiments with >3000 genes per
array. The data contains missing values and every time I use permax with
the data frame I get the error:
NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 1)

Programme Maxstat
Sirs,
I have recently been interested in your Maxstat. I have computed with my own programme the ranks (by using the Kaplan-Meier method and the log-rank test) with the formula (Observed-Expected)/(SQR Var). The results are similar but not exact to the M value obtained with the Maxstat. I would like to know whether you are using some correction or adjustment in computing the different ranks. Thank

permax for windows?
Hello:
I am using R 1.9.1 under windows.
I am interested in the permax package for analyzing DNA microarray data.
I see, from install.packages(), that the windows binary version is 1.2.1, but that source code exists for version 2.2.
Version 2.2 has much more functionality, especially for clustered data. So, I wonder whether anyone has made a binary windows release for version 2.2 of this

persp()
Hello
I am trying to draw a basic black and white map of two European countries.
After searching some key words in google and reading many pages I arrived to the conclusion that persp() could be used to draw that map.
I have prepared three small example files, which are supposed to be the files required for running that function.
xvector is a vector with the longitudes
yvector is a vector with

plotting dendrograms from cluster analyses
Hi all,
I have a bit of a newbie question here that I hope y'all can help with. I've
run a cluster analysis using hclust on about 500 objects (using R1.3 under
Win 2000). The problem is that the tips of the dendrogram are so close
together on the plot that the labels overlap and are unreadable. I've used
"cex" to reduce the label sizes but this isn't sufficient with so

Canonical Correspondence analysis-CoCoAn package

I am new to R environment.I want to carry out a

zero-offset matrices

from zero? i.e. functions such as "[.zoffset" and "[<-.zoffset" which
would allow, given an appropriate function "zmatrix"

class(robj) <- "zoffset"

package GeneSOM ?
Hello Rprofessionals,
The SOM-Obj works very well, when i normalize
my data and the plot-function, too !
But i miss or didn't find the possibility , extract the
information from the SOMplot "clusterSize" and "mean" for every cluster as quantitative information ( i.e. the DataFrame with an additional column which
define the calculate clusters from SOM)?

3d plots?
Hi all
I'm trying to create a three-dimensional wireframe-type plot,
much like the screenshot shown at
http://www.r-project.org/screenshots/volcano-persp.jpg
In my case, I'm trying to show a density estimate of
two-variable system, using the GenKern package. I've
used the image() and contour() to create a nice shaded plot,
but I've found a 3d plot is often easier for the

mva :: prcomp
Dear R-list users,
I'm new to principal components and factor analysis.
I thought this method can be very useful for me to find relationships
between several variables (which I know there is, only don't know which
variables exactly and what kind of relation), so as a structure
detection method.
Now, I'm experimenting with the function prcomp from the mva package.
