ordered factors in tree package - bug? (PR#1025)
I am new to R, and didn't know which list to send this to, since it is a bug report about a package, not about core R... I have created a regression tree using 4 predictors: 3 are unordered (binary) predictors, and the last is a date (integer), which I declare to be an ordered factor. However, the tree treats the date as if it were un-ordered, splitting into non-consecutive subsets. My code

help
Hi all, I have 2 questions: 1)How do I calculate the mean on an imported txt file? I've imported the file below and that's what it looks like imported. How do I then calcuate the mean, median, or mode on the column LeafArea using the desktop R package? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! distance matrix and hclustering
Dear R Users,i am very new to R. I want your help on an issue regarding distance matrix and cluster analysis i had discharge data of 4 rivers(a,b,c,d) in 4 vectors each having 364 values > dput(qmu)structure(list(a = c(0.26, 0.25, 0.25, 0.25, 0.24, 0.23, 0.22, 0.21, 0.21, 0.21, 0.2, 0.19, 0.19, 0.19, 0.19, 0.18, 0.18, 0.18, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17,

princomp with not non-negative definite correlation matrix
$ R --version R 1.6.1 (2002-11-01). So I would like to perform principal components analysis on a 16X16 correlation matrix, [princomp(cov.mat=x) where x is correlation matrix], the problem is princomp complains that it is not non-negative definite. I called eigen() on the correlation matrix and found that one of the eigenvectors is close to zero & negative (-0.001832311). Is there any way

Converting array to matrix
Hi, I have a 3d array as below, I want to make this array to a matrix of p=50(rows) and n=20(columns) with the coverage values . The code before the array is: library(binom) Loading required package: lattice pi.seq<-seq(from = 0.01, to = 0.5, by = 0.01) no.seq<-seq(from = 5, to = 100, by = 5) cp.all = binom.coverage( p = pi.seq, n = no.seq , conf.level = 0.95, method = "exact")

Creating tiff with 1200 dpi
Hi all, I am trying to create images in R suitable for journal publication. I'd like to make an image that is 3.6" wide and 5.08" length, and 1200 dpi. When I create a tiff file that is 800 dpi and 4x4", it works (although doesn't look good). But when I create a tiff that is the size and dpi I want, it doesn't work. I get the following error: Error in tiff(filename =

Covert list of list to dataframe for export or outputting by(test) output
Greetings, I am running a buch of wilcox tests and need to be able to rapidly export the results into a csv file. I have attached example code as well as my attempts to get what I need. I have tried unlist,cbind,rbind etc but I am obvously missing something simple. FYI I am actually running about 50 WRS tests per dataset, this is just an example. Thanks 10^6 Mike AKCCR <-

problems hist() and density
Hello, I have a problem with the hist() function and showing densities. The densities sum to 50 and not to 1! I use R version 2.9.1 (2009-06-26) and I load the seqinR library. My data is the following vector: [1] 0.1400000 0.2000000 0.2200000 0.2828283 0.1600000 0.1600000 0.3600000 [8] 0.1600000 0.2200000 0.2600000 0.2000000 0.3000000 0.2200000 0.2342342 [15] 0.1800000 0.2200000 0.1600000

Weird R behaviour?
Dear list, I have observed a weird behaviour from R --- apologies if I am missing something obvious! df3f826f28 df3f826f28 Say you type in R: >c.preec <- 10074 >c.gd <- 2200 >p1 <- .2 >c.neo <- p1*9451 + (1-p1)*3883 >n.preec <- 3710 >n.gd <- 2650 >n.neo <- 2120 >n.pcos <- 53000 >unit.met <- 94 >cost.met <- 94*n.pcos >effect <-

Compare test-suite benchmarks performance complied without TBAA, with default TBAA and with new TBAA struct path
Hello, I was interested in how much Type-Based Alias Analysis helps to optimize code. For that purpose, I've compared three sets of benchmarks: compiled without TBAA, compiled with a default TBAA metadata format, and compiled with new TBAA metadata format. As a set of benchmarks, I've used the LLVM test suite (http://llvm.org/docs/TestingGuide.html#test-suite-overview) which has a lot of

cpu utilization across speex versions
Kemal, It sounds like you are doing something wrong. I strongly recommend that you profile your application to see exactly where the CPU time is being spent. AMD happens to have a nice profiler called CodeAnalyst that they give away for free. And it's plenty usable on Intel CPUs as well. http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/DevelopWithAMD/0,,30_2252_3604,00.html Make sure you test a

[LLVMdev] 2.1 Pre-Release Available (testers needed)
Hi, LLVM 2.1-pre1 test results: Linux (SUSE) on x86 (P4) Release mode, but with assertions enabled LLVM srcdir == objdir # of expected passes 2250 # of expected failures 5 I ran the llvm-test suite on my desktop while I was also working on that PC, so don't put too much trust in the timing info. Especially during the "spiff" test the machine was swapping

How to turn Time Series daily values into weekly means (aggregate?)

[LLVMdev] ccbench: compiler shotout benchmark script
Hi All ! Recently in the mailing list there was the question about benchmarking LLVM. I was told that LLVM get's benchmarked in the nightly test. While this is true, I wanted to have a tool to compare LLVM against other compilers, so I wrote a little python program (attached) that filled my need. It is completely outside of the LLVM makefile framework, but this stems from the fact that I

GLMNET AUC vs. MSE
Hello - I am using glmnet to generate a model for multiple cohorts i. For each i, I run 5 separate models, each with a different x variable. I want to compare the fit statistic for each i and x combination. When I use auc, the output is in some cases is < .5 (.49). In addition, if I compare mean MSE (with upper and lower bounds) ... there is no difference across my various x variables, but

Porcentajes por grupos
Hola. Año Mes AñoMes Factor Valores enR 2015 1 2015-1 a 105 0.25 2015 1 2015-1 b 104 0.24 2015
