Bug in t.test?
Hello all,
due to unexplained differences between statistical results from
collaborators and our lab that arose in the same large proteomics
dataset we reevaluated the t.test() function. Here, we found a weird
behaviour that is also reproducible in the following small test
dataset:
Suppose, we have two vectors with numbers and some missing values
that refer to the same individuals and that

Anova with Scheffe Tests
Hi R-people,
I am wanting to run Factorial ANOVA followed by Scheffe tests on some spatial subjective data. I'm comparing X-Y independent coordinates against x-y dependent coordinates. There are only four independent spatial coordinates that form a square.
I am wondering whether I am doing the right thing, because there doesn't seem to be a simple way of doing this. I have attempted to

R-beta: Installation problems on SGI-IRIX
Hello,
first, I'd like to congratulate everybody involved in the development of
this statistical software. I've been working for a while with R on
Macintosh, and I like the incredible freedom that we get when working
with a flexible program like R. Experiencing serious limitations in the
implementation of functions and reuse of results of previous analyses in
traditional statistical

A Quick and (Very) Dirty Intro to Stats in R
Greetings to all,
First off, I want to thank you all for answering any nagging questions
I've had over the past few days. I've been in the process of putting
together A Quick and (Very) Dirty Intro to Doing Your Statistics in R
(which I have posted to http://didemnid.ucdavis.edu/rtutorial.html ) in
order to teach an R workshop for the graduate students in my
department. This is a

It installed without problems, but when i tried to use it, nothing would happen. - I copied the necessary "mshta.exe" into the "system32"

Saludos cordiales

~/.mime.types - format conflict with standard /etc/mime.types?
Hi,
It seems that wine (or rather cxoffice) installs a non-standard
~/.mime.types file, and that makes other programs (e.g. lynx) die. Is
there a bug here? Whose?
Its format differs from /etc/mime.types (from the mime-support package
on debian etch):
# Users can add their own types if they wish by creating a ".mime.types"
# file in their home directory. Definitions included

Windows batchfiles 0.7-1
A new version of the Windows batchfiles is available.
CHANGES
The key change is the new R.bat utility. R.bat has a new interface
and extended functionality covering many of the other prior utilities.
(These older utilities are no longer needed and have been removed.)
Unlike R.bat which requires no configuration the new Rpathset.bat
utility is configured by manually changing the Windows batch

Post-hoc tests for repeated measures in balanced experimental design
Hi,
I am performing experiments in the field of visual perception where
we often apply balanced designs. Within a group of normal subjects,
we vary different stimulus conditions (like contrast, luminance,
temporal frequency of stimulation) and derive some psychophysical or
electrophysiological results from our subjects. Often, the main
question is to test the effect of these parameters

PXELINUX: DHCP field giaddr (pxe_bootp_t.gip)
Right now, I almost have pxechn.c32 in a fully functional state by
adding a parameter to allow pure hex input of an option and its data.
It allows uppercase and lowercase entry with or without octet
delimiters (which must not match [0-9A-Fa-f]) and requires 2-digit
entry for the octet. This is an extremely loose input format such
that users may utilize it in their preferred format.
