R in BATCH mode
Dear all,
In R<=1.6.2 I usually used the following code (in DOS prompt) to run R in
batch mode
C:\documents> Rcmd BATCH myfile.R
and I could see the results (including warning messages) in the file
myfile.Rout
In R.1.7.0 I'm experiencing the followings:
(1) even if I type "Rcmd BATCH myfile.R myfile.Rout",
no file myfile.Rout is created, but just a "&1" file

Rcmd BATCH
Hello,
I''ve a question: I invoke R from a text editor in a Win2000 operating system using
Rcmd.exe BATCH inFile outFile
I''ve two problems:
a) If I use windows() as graphics device, all windows close immediately after script execution,
how can I let them not to die?
b) Is it possible to redirect the content of outFile to the console output?
Many thanks.

about BATCH and parameter file
Hello sir:
I use Rcmd to execute R code,such as :
"C:\\Program Files\\R\\R-2.2.1\\bin\\Rcmd.exe" BATCH globalLowessRun.r
globalLowessRun.r is a R function written by myself.
But I wanna make the "globalLowessRun.r" changeable, such as globalLinearRun.r or gridbasedLowessRun.r,and so on.
How can I achieve this goal via Rcmd.exe BATCH ?
The only finding is:
Rcmd BATCH

"Rcmd SHLIB" does not work
R-users
E-mail: r-help at stat.math.ethz.ch
Hi!
I would like to produce DLL files to be linked to
R objects on Windows98SE. The source files are
written in Fortran77.
I input the command below on R console.
Rcmd SHLIB aaa.f
The result is:
Error: syntax error
Does this mean that "Rcmd SHLIB aaa.f" contains
symtax error, or "aaa.f" contains it?
Or do I need to do

Making R CMD nicer
Hello everyone,
First time posting in the R mailing lists so hopefully this works well.
I noticed when I type `R CMD` I get this unhelpful message:
/usr/lib/R/bin/Rcmd: 60: shift: can't shift that many
This probably comes from the file Rcmd.in. This should be easily fixed by
checking $#.
I also think it would be nice if `R CMD help` showed the usable commands.
In fact I think the CMD

BATCH and testing
In a few of my test scripts for the survival code I expect warning messages
(I actually try to trigger a couple). Using R BATCH infile outfile these
messages don't end up in outfile, where I can compare them to what was
expected. I don't see an option to change this.
R < infile >& outfile works. But is there a way to get it to continue on
after errors?

Rcmd not working on Windows
I changed the path to include C:\Program Files\R\R-2.3.1\bin, but Rcmd check
[package] just returns an error:
'Rcmd' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file.
Any ideas? I want to be able to compile this package on Windows.

Rterm BATCH versus Splus BATCH
I have written a batch file I thought would run in R (for Windows, 1.5.1),
but as the documentation suggests, R is different in how it handles BATCH
from S-Plus (i.e. not directly equivalent to "Splus BATCH infile outfile
errfile").
If the file consists of a list of valid R commands, what's the best way of
automating it?
Many thanks.

I installed the batch files 4-3 found at

I also had to install the latest version of perl (it's Strawberry perl if
that makes a difference) and have added this to my path.
