Using sub to get captions in barplots
All,
I've been using "sub" (subtitle) instead of "main" such that captions are
below figures produced by xyplot. This works fine and captions are on a
single line. However, when I try this for bar plots with error bars
(altering the error.bars function form Crawley's The R Book, see below), the
captions are split on more than 1 line. Is there a way to get the

printing captions in multiple panes
Dear List,
I would like to add captions to a set of graphics. The graphs are each
composed of two scatter plots in an upper and lower pane.
I'd like to add a caption below the lower pane. The troubel I'm hitting is
that in order to fit the caption using mtext, I must increase the margins
for both panes-- these shrinks my plots considerably and leaves a big
blank area.
The second trouble

plot.lm cex.caption
Hello dear R users,
My objective is to change the size of this graphic : plot(lm(a~b), 4)

I have found the help on the internet saying to change the size of a title
on a graphic plot(lm(a ~ b), 4), I should use the graphic parameter

xtable - caption missing with float=FALSE
Hi,
For some reason I'm finding that my table caption is disappearing if I
print xtable output with the floating argument set to FALSE. Below is a
very simple Sweave file that produces two tables the first has no
caption and the second has a caption (if you want to see it
http://www.zevross.com/temp/test.pdf).
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

captions for than one figure
Hi,
I would like to have four plots plotted in the one figure and under each plot
the caption (a) ... (d). Using mtext I can get so far:
> plot(1:10, exp(1:10), log = "y", xlab = "xlab")
> mtext("(a)",side=1,line=4.5)
> plot(1:10, exp(1:10), log = "y", xlab = "xlab")
> mtext("(b)",side=1,line=4.5)

R2HTML adding caption to data-frame
Hi,
I was wondering if there was an easy way to add a caption to a data frame when it is being sent to a html page using R2HTML.
currently the following command will produce a reasonably formatted table in a html file
HTML(mydataframe)
It would be good if you could send caption with the table something like
HTML(lCaption="my table caption",mydataframe) # this works but leaves a blank

One main caption for an mfrow=c(2,1) plot window
Hello,
I'm trying to plot a series of pages in a pdf with one main caption for
each page.
Each page should then have two plots in one row, preferably with an own
caption.
I can't plot the main caption in a window, and subsequently plot the two
graphics (next to each other) below it.
Here is what I've tried. This one almost does the job, but when plotting
the two graphics, R

Sweave: R chunk inside caption?
Hi Folks,
I'm surprised, but I didn't find this question addressed anywhere. I'd
like to generate a LaTeX caption with R code. I've tried the code
below, but I get the following TeX error:
! Argument of \@caption has an extra }.
<inserted text>
\par
l.21 }
Any thoughts? Perhaps I'll have to write the "\caption{}" text with R?
thanks!

xtable and sweave: caption placement problem
Dear All
I am running Sweave with xtable and want to put the caption placement
on top. But this does not work. Any idea what is going wrong?
Here is an example that runs properly with the exception of the
caption placement in the pdf-file.
\documentclass[11pt,a4paper]{article}
\usepackage{Sweave}
\begin{document}
<<>>=
x = runif(100, 1, 10)
y = 2 + 3 * x + rnorm(100)

Multilanguage WineHQ & AppDB?
I think it would be interesting to add multilanguage support to the entire site (spanish is my home language and only the front page appears translated).
For example, the entries and forms for test data in the AppDB could be displayed in the language of each user, so anyone else could understand. This would increase the user base of Wine, as many non-English speakers could understand the entries

scale caption on levelplot
hi,
i am trying to figure out how to put a caption on the colour scale of a
levelplot. there does not seem to be an option for this in levelplot().
i tried using mtext() but as soon as you put the text far out enough on
the right of the plot, it goes beyond the plot boundary. so i tried to
extend the margin on the right of the plot using par(mar) but this did
not have any effect on the plot area.

Multilanguage design
Hello. I have an initiative of multilanguage wiki upgrade. Current version
has no multilanguage user interface which can not be translated. As of
current moment we have many people who use wiki with different languages
but navigation lead them into English sections only. Can we start new
deployment (project) which will be true multilangual. Then move all actual
content from current wiki.

Sharing a Hashtable between all sessions?
Is it possible with RoR?
In my case this shared Hashtable is a language translation table for
several hundred terms, and does not need to be updated.
I would like it to be shared in order to avoid loading it once for each
session.
Thanks,
Marcus O.

Multilanguage support
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+multi-language
By trial and error and a lot of ancient nordic magic (reading the source) I found out
that Asterisk does not look for language-specific sound files with the -cc extension,
cc being country code.
Asterisk looks for files first in a "cc" subdirectory, like "se/vm-login.gsm", then
in the default directory.

long captions -- new issue
I have found out that the way to have a break apart a long caption in
the way that one desires is to have a short caption for use in the
list of tables that is not broken with \\
I can manually adjust the LaTeX output from the Hmisc function latex()
to get the tables how I want them. However, I would like to automate
the creation of these tables.
Inside the latex() function, I tried this:

Hmisc labels and captions in latex.list()
I am trying to feed a list to latex to use with SWeave, and the list
comes from contents(). Since it is a list, a caption and label are
generated by latex.list - these are not overridden by setting the
parameters (such as caption='myCaption', label='myLabel').
I must clearly be missing something - is there no way to set a caption
or label with the latex() function when
