paginating_find losing scope
Hello,
I''m having a problem with paginating_find losing the context of the
array it''s paginating.
For example,
URL: http://localhost:3000/companies/1/users/1
<% @tickets = @user.tickets.find(:all, page => {:size =>
10, :current => params[:page]}) %>
<% for ticket in @tickets %>
...
<% end %>
<%= paginating_links (@tickets) %>

Paginating Problema :(
I''ve done paginating a lot, and it works great. But for some reason,
this time, it paginates fine, but the Next Page link doesn''t work - it
adds the ?Page=2 but it doesn''t actually display the next page, it
displays the first page still.
What process actually happens when you hit next page? Does it reload
the action you''re in? What could the potential

Filtering out low scoring matches with acts_as_ferret (fwd)
Hi all,
I''m using fuzzy~ queries which can return very poor matches. What is the
most elegant way to filter out scores below some threshold? I know that I
can do my own thing with find_id_by_contents but I''d like to filter out
less relevant results at a lower level so that I can use :limit/:offset
for pagination and all that.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Casey

[PLUGIN] ArPaginator - Allows you to easily paginate over any existing AR queries.
The built-in Rails pagination is fairly limited...you pass in the
model name, and optionally some conditions, and it generates a
paginated query for you. This gets to be very bad if you''ve got any
custom queries.
class Company < ActiveRecord::Base
def complete_videos
Video.find :all, :conditions => "company_id=#{id} AND
status=''complete''", :order

Ferret returning too many results
Hi, I just upgraded from acts_as_ferret 0.2/Ferret 0.9.x to
acts_as_ferret 0.3/ferret .10.9, and i''m getting a strange behavior:
searches are returning far too many results, most of them superflous.
i''ll paste in my code below, it''s pretty simple. i''m googling like mad,
and going through both the source and the forums, and having trouble
finding what could

Moving pagination to the Model
I''m using will_paginate in a Post class method;
[code]def self.list(page)
paginate :per_page => 10,
:page => page,
:include => :user
end[/code]
I can happily use the method on my posts controller index action;
[code]
class PostsController < ApplicationController
def index
@posts = Post.list(params[:page])
respond_to do |format|

pagination in acts_as_ferret
I''m just wondering where I would put the pagination for search results
when using "acts_as_ferret".
At the moment my search code is..
def search
@query = params[:query] || ''''
unless @query.blank?
@results = Tutorial.find_by_contents @query
end
end

Pagination - why is it this hard?
Hi everyone,
I''m at the end of my rope on this. I can''t get pagination to work
with anything but a standard find on a model. If I try to do a search
and customize the pagination, I get lots of different variations.
My thought was to have the list action do what it does, but to pass it
a list of search conditions from the search action. So, if search
determines that we need

acts_as_taggable and paginate?
Hi there,
I''ve been trying to paginate over a list of members that all share a tag in
common using the acts_as_taggable plugin. The regular way of paginating over
a collection doesn''t seem to work with acts_as_taggable. Here''s what my
method looks like that takes in a tag name, finds all the members that share
the tag and then displays all the members. Nothing too fancy

duplicate search results
i''m using Ferret 0.9.0 with acts_as_ferret (the one from svn.jkraemer.net), and
i''m getting duplicate results, as described in this thread:
http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/ferret-talk/2005-December/000048.html
is there a way to configure the indexes created by acts_as_ferret to use :key =>
:id, as described in that thread? i''ve poked around in the code, and had

Pagination problem with acts_as_ferret
Hi,
am using this wonderful plugin acts_as_ferret and according to the
tutorial at http://railsenvy.com/2007/2/19/acts-as- ? rial#basic
I worked it out except the pagination feature.
If I have 12 records and I give limit to 10, its correctly displaying 10
records in the first page and is giving the link to the second page too.
But when I go to the next page I find the same 10 records instead of

conditional boost? friends to come up at top of search...
Hey guys, im trying to get my friends to come up at the top of the act
as ferret search. I would query the whole result set first, then move my
friends to the top, but the thing is, Im paginating my results and use
the offset and limit parameters in the multi_search() function.
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance...

another simple question: per_page in pagination
Hi,
Why can''t I use a variable to specify the :per_page attribute when using
the most basic form of pagination? (if I use a hardcode number, it
runs) What did I do? Thx.
My code:
def list_orders
page_size = 20
...
order_pages, @orders = paginate(:orders, :per_page => page_size)
end
My Errors:
