Index vectors get overwriten ?!
Hello, For some analysis of a mesh structure I need to prepare several vectors of indexes of different length. This is done by the following code sequence (including diagnostic output): #-------------------------------------------------- MT_ind <- which(V1.frame[,2] %in% mm[,1]) print("M_ind") str(M_ind) Q1_ind <- which(V1.frame[,2] %in% mq1) print("Q1_ind")

place 4 ini files
Dear expeRts, I collect some lab specific functions for a package. Some of this functions need initial data (ini files written in R-code). My question is: Where is the place in the package structure for such files; how to load the files? I think something like: source(paste(R.home(),"/library/__pkg__/data/__.ini.R", sep="")) looks a bit clumsy. I haven't find something

Neural Networks in R
Hello! We are a group of three students at Bielefeld University currently working on a statistical projects about neural networks. Within the framework of this project we are supposed to use the nnet-function in R and explain how it works. Since anyone of us has much experience in using R we hoped to find some information on your homepage. Unfortunatelly, we haven't been very successfull so

Please share your Solaris experiences on the Asterisk Solaris Wiki page

We need more momentum for Asterisk on non-Linux platforms. Building a community around Solaris much like there is a community around BSD, would be very helpful. This will only happen if Solaris users start sharing

converting matrix in array
Hi everyone, have a small problem trying to converting a dataset in matrix form to an array. Specifically: data include 3D measurement -x,y,z of 59 points in 36 objects. They are stored as a matrix (x) of 2124 rows and 3 columns. What I want to do is to extract each subject's dataset using an array (b). Accordingly, I tried the following command: b<-array(a,c(59,3,36)). The problem is

FR: improve "use" function
Hello, Currently `use` fails silently if you try to attach functions from the same namespace. It would be nice and more similiar to the use of roxygen2 if it could add (and maybe even remove?) functions. Here is a simple proof of concept I have posted on Stack Overflow [1]. Something similar could be done within `use`. Of course, it would be preferable if it didn't need to detach the

Estimating correlation in multiple measures data
Dear R-helpers, This may sound simple to you, but I'm a beginner in this, so please be forgiving. I have a following problem: two analytes were measured in patient's blood on 4 occasions: ProteinA and ProteinB. How to correctly evaluate correlation between ProteinA and ProteinB? I tried: x <- data.frame(Patient.ID=rep(1:10, each=4), Visit=rep(c(1:4),10), ProteinA=rnorm(m=10,

Here's a version only detaches the namespace when necessary: ```r use <- function(package, include.only) { package <- as.character(package)[[1L]] if (!requireNamespace(package, quietly = TRUE)) { warning("there is no package called ", sQuote(package)) return

Bug#475553: Patch for logcheck-rules
Hi, after we switched to rsyslog with high precision timestamps logcheck did not match the timestamps any more. A patch adding the high precision timestamp format is attached. The rules now match both the traditional timestamp format and the high precision timestamp format (with or without microseconds). Yours sincerely, Ralf D?blitz -- Ralf D?blitz r.doeblitz at asco.de Tel 0531/3906-116

[LLVMdev] seeking a mailing list for llvm ports
Hi - sorry to intrude, but can somebody point me to a suitable mailing list where a tyro can get some advice on modifying an existing llvm llvm assembler ... rather lightly? I want to add an extra instruction to the assembler/machine code supported by the OR1K llvm port. Well, there are a few more things I need to do, but that will be good enough to start with! I was able to what I wanted

Problem with Let's Encrypt Certificate
Hey. Thanks again for your help. I took the "dovecot -n" while the StartSSL Certificate was active, so the chain.pem was correct. Finally I found the issue! :-) But I still have no idea why the problem happens with Thunderbird. I used dehydrated to fetch the certificates from Let's Encrypt and as I said, it works for most clients pretty well. (Tried: Mulberry, Claws Mail, Outlook

Small typo in nlme documentation
Hi, I've noticed a small typo in `help("varClasses", "nlme")`. Contrary to what the "Note" says, variance classes need a method for `Initialize` (capital i) and not `initialize`. Lighthttpd not working as default (configuration?)
Hi, On the api doc it is written that if lighttpd is installed, rails will use it as its web server instead of WebBrick. I have installed lighthttpd and verified it works (for example on the default port 80) but when lauching script/server, it still uses WebBrick. I wondering if I need to edit /etc/lighttpd/lighthttpd.conf myself or configure something else. Any idea? Thanks Oscar

localboot.lua: a lua.c32 script that uses DMI data to decide between localboot/chainloading
Hi, we use PXELINUX in our product to show a boot menu on client computers, with options like "Boot from local hard disk", "Install Windows", etc. Unfortunately, a lot of computers seem to have broken BIOSes and won't boot with the LOCALBOOT command, and need to be booted with chain.c32 instead. We also have encountered some computers where it works only the other way -
