Interpreting canonical correlation (cancor) results
Hi,
from what I understand about the canonical correlation function
'cancor', it looks for correlations in two sets of variables, each
represented in matrix form. Right? Sounds exactly like what I need.
I have tried the following but I am not sure how to interpret the results.
AudioPCs <- c(ArTHarF0PCA$x[,2], ArTHarF1PCA$x[,2], ArTHarF2PCA$x[,2],
ArTHarF3PCA$x[,2],

Canonical Correspondence analysis-CoCoAn package
Hi R-users,
I am new to R environment.I want to carry out a
correspondence analysis on a contigency table with 64
columns and 298 observation of Environmental data.In
many cells of the contigency table the frequency is
just the value '1'.
I got the following error.

Plot of Canonical Correlation Analysis
Dear all,
I didn't find any graphical solution in the package "mva" to plot the
canonical scores from a CCA (canonical correlation analysis).
Does anybody knows how to plot or has anybody already programmed :
- the map of the canonical scores,
- the graph of the canonical weights,
- the correlation circle i.e. the canonical loadings ?
Thank you for help ...

any DCCA function in R?
Dear members,
I am performing multivariate analysis on marine benthic populations
using R. At first glance I found ca and VEGANO packages to be the
suitable for the task, but neither has incorporated Detrended Canonical
Correspondence Analysis (DCCA), which is just the method I want to apply
on my data. I've looked for alternative packages containing the method,
but my suspicion is that

Conditional CCA and Monte Carlo - Help!
Hi All,
I am using canonical correspondence analysis to compare a community
composition matrix to a matrix of sample spatial relationships and
environmental variables. In order to parse out how much variance is
explained purely by space (S/E) or the environment (E/S) I am using a
conditional (partial) CCA. I want to test significance via Monte Carlo but
I can not find a way to do this with a

does this sound like any kind of R procedure to you?
I apologize that this is not precisely about R, but it does fall into
the "what would an R user do?" category of questions.
My colleague came to me and said "I have data on 20 countries, 4
elections in each one. I have measures for each election on a number of
things, and I want to know if the change from one election to the next
follows a pattern. For example, is the measure

Canonical Correspondence Analysis in R
I think i mentioned this in private communication a while back, but in
case anyone else cares:
I have a version of canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) coded up in
R. I based it on

environmental data as vector in PCA plots
Hi,
I want to include a vector representing the sites - environmental data
correlation in a PCA.
I currently use prcomp (no scaling) to perform the PCA, and envfit to
retrieve the coordinates of the environmental data vector. However, the
vector length is different from the one obtained in CAnoco when performing
a species - environmental biplot (scaling -2). How can I scale the vector

Correspondence analysis with R
Hello everybody,
i'm having some trouble performing correspondence analysis with R for Mac OS
X. Does anyone know about some useful package?
And also, if i had found coordinates of points representing row and column
profiles, how do i put them in a single figure with labels identifying each
one of them?
This thing is getting me almost crazy...
Thank you in advance for answering,

Principal comp. scores in R
Hello, I am trying to run a PCA in R and I cannot get the PC scores for
each of the values. Using pcX <- princomp(X) then loadings(pcX) I can get a
listing of the eigenvectors but not the actual PC scores for each value in
the dataset. I greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer
Thanks

cca and cca.predict in vegan-what sort of prediction is possible
Hi All
I am not clear quite how one could use cca from package vegan and the associated
predict.cca to predict species abundance from environmental data (or if this is possible
in a generalised way). In other words, can one derive a cca object based on known
community data and use that to predict e.g. species abundances in a different number
of samples based on environmental data? The help

writing polygons/segments to shapefiles (.shp) or other ArCGIS compatible file
I am not sure a previous e-mail reached the list (no mail aknowledgement from R-boundle etc.). The question was how to write polygon

the documentation is a bit beyond of my mind.... and I cannot get the meaning of the functions write**** and its application to the

Canberra distance
Hi,
I misunderstand the definition of Canberra distance in R.
On Internet and in function description pages of dist() from stats and
Dist() from amap, Canberra distance between vectors x and y, d(x,y), is :
d(x,y) = sum(abs(x-y)/(x+y))
But in use, through simple examples, we find that the formula is :
d(x,y) = (NZ + 1)/NZ * sum(abs(x-y)/(x+y))
with NZ = nb of pairs of coordinates that are
