problem using MASS corresp and mca functions
Hello,
I'm an absolute beginner with R and neophite in data analysis, so please bear
with me if I ask stupid question.
I'm trying to do a correspondence analysis using R and MASS corresp function,
but I get an error message which I'm unable to interpret:

Installation
Hi,
I have the following (probably trivial) problem:
I am running a Windows 95 System and have setted the environment variables R_HOME and especillay R_USER in the autoexec.bat. The idea was, to invoke R at the startup to read in the files .Renviron and .Rprofile from my home directory, even when the current working directory is somewhere else.
Subject to the manual it should work, but it does

Packages for R 1.2.0 for Windows
I have re-built all the compiled packages for R 1.2.0 for Windows, and the
set available in CRAN/bin/windows/contrib are now for rw1020.
If you are upgrading to rw1020, please replace all the compiled
packages you have downloaded by ones from this set.
There a few packages available for the first time:

A QUESTION ABOUT TIME SERIES
Dear sirs,
My name is Marcelo Grimaldi and i work for General Electric in the Six Sigma
Program. Recently I became very interested in spectral analysis, because I
think it can be applied to my job. I use Minitab 12 and i have heard that
writing macros for spectral analysis in this software is very difficult.
Could I perform this analysis in a easier way throught "R" ? Have you ever

export graph to Word/Excel
Hi,
I have a set of script like this:

I type "rterm --slave < script.r > output.doc" and the

Can I build an array of regrssion model?
Hi,
I am trying to use piecewise linear regression to approximate a
nonlinear function. Actually, I don't know how many linear functions I
need, therefore, I want build an array of regression models to automate
the approximation job. Could you please give me any clue?
Attached is ongoing code:

simprof test using jaccard distance
Dear All,
I would like to use the simprof function (clustsig package) but the available distances do not include Jaccard distance, which is the most appropriate for pres/abs community data. Here is the core of the function:

Avoiding for loop
I understand that in R, for loops are not used as often as other
languages, and am trying to learn how to avoid them. I am wondering
if there is a more efficient way to write a certain piece of code,
which right now I can only envision as a for loop. I have a data file
that basically looks like:
1,55
1,23
2,12
...
that defines a matrix. Each row of the data file corresponds to a row

Keep value lables with data frame manipulation
Dear R,
I import data from spss into a R data.frame. On this rawdata I do some
data processing (selection of observations, normalization, recoding of
variables etc..). The result is stored in a new data.frame, however, in
this new data.frame the value labels are lost.
Example of what I do in code:
# read raw data from spss
rawdata <- read.spss("./data/T50937.SAV",

In addition: Warning message:
