install ferret on windows
Hi! I''m trying to install ferret on windows, so I chose ferret-0.10.9-mswin32.gem from the download page, as it includes a already pre-compiled ferret_ext.so (is that correct?) and I don''t have any C compiler here. The gem installed it correctly, but the test didn''t work. So I called these commands: rake ext ruby setup.rb config ruby setup.rb setup ruby setup.rb

Any chance to get 0.11.3 on windows soon ?
Hi, I''m working on a Ferret-based application which indexes content in all European languages. Thus, I have to deal with those funny European characters. After googling a bit, I decided to move on with a custom European analyzer based on MappingFilter, as suggested in the Ferret rdoc. Everything works fine with Ferret 0.11.3 on Mac OS X. But this application needs to run on both

Native Extensions on Windows 0.10 series
Hi all, I''ve just noticed that 0.10 is out and wanted to give it a try on windows. I''m not at all an VS C++ Developer so I might do something very stupid here. My env: Windows Server 2003 VS .NET 2003 On the command line with nmake from VC7 in the path this is what I get: Attempting remote update of ferret Building native extensions. Ferret problems with Rails 1.2.1
Hi, I''ve just updated rails from 1.1.6 to 1.2.1 and I''m getting the following errors whenever I load a page that uses a class that uses ferret. I have ferret 0.10.13 and acts_as_ferret. They were working fine before the upgrade. #<NameError: cannot remove Object::WildcardQuery>

Ferret Gem Installation on Windows
Trying to install ferret on my windows XP environment. Using InstantRails 2.0 with RoR 2.0.2, and NetBeans 6.0. I had successfully installed and built RailsSpace in InstantRails 1.7, but am trying to upgrade RailsSpace to RoR 2.0.2 using the code that Michael has kindly provided for us on the website. When I run the gem install ferret command, I get the following error: C:\Documents and

Windows build with Visual Studio 2005 - some success
Hi all, first up, big thanks to Dave for doing the hard work of porting Lucene. I have come to love Lucene through my Java work and was extremely pleased to find the Ferret project for Ruby. Now, I am tinkering with building the C extension using Visual Studio 2005. So far, I have had some success in getting something built and working in my Rails app (diffs attached). I am also encountering a

Can't get xapian-core 1.05 to build under windows xp
Here is the output I get from nmake. I am not a guru at getting C programs to build under windows, I never had any troubles I could not solve on OSX :-( I am using the released sources, I have Visual Studio 2005, I have the make files from lemur. I read ALL the readme.txt file before starting. And this is what I get. C:\Documents and Settings\jroberson\My Documents\DOWNLOADS\xapian-

[LLVMdev] "nmake check" doesn't work for MSVC
Hi, I built llvm+Clang for MSVC 10 with cmake ../../Source/LLVM -G"NMake Makefiles" nmake And I tried to do a nmake check (which works for MinGW and "mingw32-make check") and get the following error: >Scanning dependencies of target check >[100%] Running LLVM regression tests >Traceback (most recent call last): > File

I just tried it again in the exact same configuration that did work before, and this time it fails at an earlier stage with a different error: [ 66%] Building CXX object lib/Target/Mips/CMakeFiles/LLVMMipsCodeGen.dir/Mips16FrameLowering.cpp.obj Mips16FrameLowering.cpp NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\PROGRA~2\MICROS~2.0\VC\bin\cl.exe' : return code '0xffffffff'

Re: Clicking noise using Speex built for TI C64+ DSP ofDaVinci Processor
Sorry everyone, but I figured it out; it's working now. The problem was in my monoToStereo and stereoToMono functions (the Linux OSS driver on the ARM side only supports stereo so I had to convert it to mono before feeding it to Speex); also I had an alignment issue with my buffers I was using on the DSP side. Thanks Jim/Jean-Marc for your help! Regards, Andy ----- Original Message ----

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM 3.3 on Win64
Hi Russel, I never tried to build LLVM with nmake. With msbuild it works without problems. You can find a short desription here: http://wiki.dlang.org/Building_and_hacking_LDC_on_Windows_using_MSVC, section Build LLVM. [LLVMdev] Building LLVM 3.3 on Win64
After some running some more tests, a weird addendum to this case: the build also fails at the same place with the same error message if MinGW isn't in the path. I'm not talking about MinGW instead of Microsoft C++, it's just that the build works if and only if MinGW is in the path _as well as_ the 32-bit version of Microsoft C++. Jitter buffer latency
Hi Jean-Marc, Thanks for your response. Given a worst case scenario, what is the "worst case" latency (in terms of Speex frames) that the jitter buffer algorithm will incur? We're trying to determine the worst case hard number. Sorry for unclear question below; what I was trying to ask is that given a worst case latency (which I'm asking in the first question) inherent in
