Proposed enhancement: forward controlling terminal
Dear OpenSSH people,
It would be nice if SSH could forward the client's controlling
terminal to the remote process in addition to the client's stdin and
stdout. This way, if the user wants to run a process through sudo on
the remote machine while redirecting stdin and stdout locally (ssh B
sudo foo <in >out), sudo would be able to read a password from the
user. Ditto if the

[PATCH] i386: modified CONFIG_PHYSICAL_ALIGN
CONFIG_PHYSICAL_ALIGN gives the physical address's alignment where the
kernel is loaded.
CONFIG_PHYSICAL_ALIGN's default value is different from i386 kernel with the
x86_84 kernel. The i386's default CONFIG_PHYSICAL_ALIGN value is 1MB, but
the x86_64's is 2MB.
The problem is, if you compile x86_64 kernel, the value of
CONFIG_PHYSICAL_ALIGN will be fixed, and the next time you

problem with smbc_init in libsmbclient
Hi,
I have attached a very simple c program, that first does a smbc_init and
then a smbc_opendir. The problem: smbc_init return an error (No such file
or directory) and then i get a segmentation fault. I don't know what
possibly could be the problem. Maybe some of you guys have an idea. I
think i have libsmbclient from samba 2.2.7(compiled on my own system) and
the rest of the samba stuff is

Problems with /bin/cat and flintlock?
Hi Guys,
I'm working on some integration project with Ruby, Rack, Apache, Phusion Passenger and Xapian.
I've been having intermittent issues with the flintlock code - it seems that the function FlintLock::lock is never returning and this is locking up the Ruby process.
My guess is that Xapian is locking up in a system call and Ruby can't schedule its green threads.
I've done

J1/INS1500 and the Redirect Number
Hi everyone!
I'm wondering if anyone on the list had the opportunity to work with an NTT
INS1500 ISDN PRI service before.
You see, in Japan, if you receive a call that was just forwarded by another
number, the call presentation not only includes the caller (ANI) and your
number (DNIS), it will also usually include the forwarding number
(REDIRECT). Does anybody know how to extract this field

[PATCH] Fix arguments passed to SHADOW_PRINTK
Hi.
When I compiled xen-3.3-testing with DEBUG_TRACE_DUMP in xen/include/xen/lib.h
turned on, I got some errors at SHADOW_PRINTK.
The following patch will fix the arguments passed to SHADOW_PRINTK in
xen/arch/x86/mm/shadow/common.c and xen/arch/x86/mm/shadow/multi.c.
Although I haven''t tested, it is the same for xen-unstable.hg
Thanks,
Yoshi

(no subject)
Dear R helpers,
I have a curious problem, which is that a program I have written in R
crashes R, unpredictably. When I say that the program crashes R, I mean
that it causes R to terminate, completely. But, the operating system
(Windows) continues OK.
The program loops around a randomForest regression. I am trying to use
randomForest to predict the diagnosis for a set of patients with dementia.

exec-ing R from Java
I'm developing a Java module which exec's R by means of
the java.lang.Runtime class.
R is started from Java with code similar to
p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("/usr/bin/R --no-save");
Java then controls R by sending and receiving
messages over R's STDIN and STDOUT.
This works well except when plots are displayed to
the screen.
The windows are non interactive. They
