hist (PR#2512)
The command hist(c(2,2,2,4,5,6)) returns a histogram that looks incorrect -- 3 in the bin labeled 2 on the left, but 1 each in the bins labeled 3,4,5 on the left. Thanks! Nonparametric Effect size indices
Hello! For comparing two non-normally distributed samples, Leech (2002) suggested to report nonparametric effect size indices, such as Vargha & Delaney's A or Cliff's d. I tried to search the R-sites, but could not find related procedures or packages that include nonparametric effect sizes. Thank you for your help! Citation: Leech (2002). A call for greater use of nonparametric

How to analysis Y98 chips using RankProd package?
Dear R and Bioconductor Helpers, I am using a package called RankProd under Bioconductor to analysis my Y98 (yeast) microarray data. I had no problem following the example in the vignette but got stocked when I tried to analyze my own data. When I tried to run the following command, RP.out <- RP(rrf.sub, rrf.cl.sub, gene.names = y98.gnames, rand = 123) I got the following response: Rank

arrow keys on Linux-PPC
Hi, I've recently compiled and installed R-1.1.1 on linux-PPC. Everything is working well except for my arrow keys. The arrow keys neither give command history nor move the cursor. The readline and history devel-pacakges are installed and R found them; I think the problem is more likely in key-mapping. The arrow keys do work in other programs. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Problem I am having with Samba 2.2.7a and Win2k
Hi ... I am desperate now to solve this problem ... this is my absolute last resort attempt! I have read of the problem on a number of posts/newsgroups/webpages - but there a very little solutions - or causes - none of the solutions have worked for me! Basically my samba is happily running and I can connect to it fine from 9x clients and from 2k client as a workgroup. However..... If I try to

dynamic PBR, actions, docs and getting it all straight
Hi, Fair warning this may be a bit rambling, and is definitely a bit long. I am trying to prototype a system for doing dynamic policy-based routing (source address dependent based on reverse routes from BGP or other dynamic routing protocols.) We need to do this due to a cacophony of factors I won''t get into. To do so the general plan is to store dynamic routes in their own table,

Patch for easier dynamic SAD PBR
Yesterday I posted a patch on the netdev list but it occurred to me that folks here might have more to say about the proposed feature (and a stake in it since it would add syntax to iproute) http://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg49450.html Comments very welcome.

php with oci8 support
I am attempting to build php with oracle oci8 support. I've installed the oracle installclient basic and devel rpms. When kicking off the srpm buid I am using the following... rpmbuild --with oci8 --rebuild php-4.3.9-3.8.src.rpm While on an FC 4 box this works and I end up with a php-oci8 pkg that is fully functional. However on CentOS 4.1 the build isn't actually building with oci8

syslog only broken on 3.2.0 (debian lenny)?
I can't really imagine syslog only is broken, otherwise other people would have complained about this already. I am using syslog-ng, and other daemon facility messages get routed to /var/log/daemon.log - but I get absolutely no samba messages - to any log except the default samba logs. lines from smb.conf: syslog only = yes syslog = 3 If I comment out these lines and use (log level

Errors Building 4.8
I have been trying to build the latest 4.8 Stable on a 4.8 Stable system mainly go get the latest fixes, but on "make buildworld" I keep getting the same problem for the past few days. I've even completely removed /usr/src and /usr/obj (ok I backed it up) and re-cvsuped the code and started a-new. I attached the complete "make buildworld" from after that. Anyone have
