Using fortran code which call LAPACK subroutines

Could anyone help me for the procedure to do: -which part of the manual is relevant for this type of question? actually I'm speaking from writing R extensions, should I read R admin? -point 1.2

R-beta: cannot make R
Can anyone help? I am trying to install R-0.62.2 on a Sun with OS 5.6 (Solaris 2.6), and gcc/f77. Unfortunatley the simple commands ./configure --prefix=/opt/R make did not work, complaining when building help/docs. It claims to have problems perl (which has worked fine so far) but in practice it is not only a documentation problem: if I force "make install" and run R, then it

[R] R compile on AIX 5.2
Professor Ripley, Following your advice, I am now using an updated version of gcc (4.0.2 to be exact) as well as a true fortran compiler (XL Fortran Compiler v10.1.0.0 from IBM). I am still experiencing difficulty in running "make" after a successful "configure". Any additional insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Output of make is as follows: Running

Q: problem with samba on AIX / RS6000 (Unix)
Hello, I'm trying to configure samba on AIX / RS6000. I have the smbd part of it running well . The nmbd part is giving us problems. Nmbd daemon dies as soon as started ! When I issue a 'ps -ef ' to see the processes, smbd runs but nmbd never. When using 'smbclient -L JAWS ' to debug the problem, I have the following output : Unknown parameter encountered : "local

R-beta: R on IBM RS6000/AIX
Are there anybody at all that use R on IBM RS 6000 machines running AIX? I would be happy to talk to you in that case. I have successfully (I think) managed to install R, however I cannot figure out how to `dyn.load' external C functions. Any help will be appreciated. Back-UPS RS6000
Hi all, I have an APCC Back-UPS XS 1000 (it's a USB device) that I'm using with nut 2.0.2 that came with Fedora Core 4. It reports itself like this: Back-UPS RS 1000 FW:7.g8 .D USB FW:g8 in the nut web status page, which seems a tad messy. It otherwise works fine, except I don't get any information on the input and output voltages. I'm using the hidups driver. My

Linking Rblas
Dear all, when making a DLL via Rcmd SHLIB is there a way to link against a library such as Rblas (I am on a Windows platform) on a case to case basis? I played a bit around with some self-written C-code which should call the function 'dasum' defined in Blas.h. I encountered the following problem: u:\codeplay>Rcmd SHLIB mysumming.c Rcmd SHLIB mysumming.c gcc --shared -s -o

errors when installing packages (ubuntu)
Hi List, I'm having problems installing certain packages. When I try to install fields, I get the output below. I have highlighted the what I perceive as the first error (spam seems to be a dependency of fields). Can I assume this is causing dependency problems for fields, which fails to install at the end, or is there a deeper problem? I run Ubuntu Karmic Koala on R 2.9.2. 2>

Installation help
Hello, I am trying to compile R using the Sun WorkShop 6.0 (Forte) compilers. I don't think I am having a problem with the compilers, but instead with figuring out how to modify the R configuration to use non-Gnu compilers. I found in your documentation that one should modify the config.site file to change compilers, compiler flags, library paths, etc. I made modifications in this file,

problem installing fields package 3.5 on R 1.8.1 on linux
I am returning to using R after a little time away. Saw some great new functions in the fields package and decided to upgrade. Everything seems to go fine until I tried to actually load the package, when I get an error: >library(fields) Error in parse(file, n, text, prompt) : syntax error on line 227 And (of course) I am unable to access any of the functions in the fields package. problem installing packages from source on win2k
Dear R-helpers, I'm having trouble compiling R packages from source on Win2K. I installed R 1.7.1beta [1] on my win2k machine [2], downloaded the fields package as source [3] and tried but failed to install the package [4]. I get the same problem with other packages, so it doesn't appear to be limited to fields. Installation of precompiled packages seems to work fine. I've been

Compiling on a Red Hat 5.1 system
I'm feeling kinda stupid right now, but I'm actually having problems compiling R-0.62.3 on a Red Hat 5.1 Linux system. I'd be happy if someone could point out for me where to look to fix the problem. I've included the output from the compiling below. Thanks for any help. Fredrik make -f Makefile.2nd all make[1]: Entering directory `/home/fredrigl/R-0.62.3' Building R cd

[LLVMdev] Shared library building problems on Darwin
Hi, a while back I wrote that the llvm makefiles didn't create the correct kind of file for use on darwin with -load. Since then, both the shared library and makefile system have been overhauled significantly. So I checked again - as updated from CVS, the current makefiles don't build the right object type on darwin. If you follow the advice of 'Writing an LLVM Pass" tutorial,
