make R package for windows on Linux
Hi, I made a package on a linux box. All worked fine. The package contains only R code (no C). I then wanted to make a zip file so that I could test the package on a windows machine. I have tried all the obvious ways to do this (and even some that are not!), but to no avail. The only instructions I find about building packages for windows (e.g. mypkg.zip) seem to imply that the build be done

How to convert .Rd format in windows
Thanks for everyone who answered my query. I put an extra line in AUTOEXEC.BAT to specify the R_HOME variable. And the Rdconv command works perfectly if I execute the AUTOEXEC from DOS prompt. However, if I execute the AUTOEXEC from inside windows system the command does not work. queue simulation
Hi all, I have a multiple queing situation I'd like to simulate to get some idea of the distributions - waiting times and allocations etc. Does R has a package available for this - many years ago there used to be a language called "simscript" for discrete event simulation and I was wondering if R has an equivalent (or hopefully with graphics, something better!). Apologies if there

loglm fitting
Dear all, sorry to bother you all with this but I've been trying to use the loglm in MASS package (v2.8.0) and cannot get any sensible output. I'm wondering am I doing something very foolish or missing something obvious. For example, I tried the documentation help(loglm) example - here's the code # Case 1: frequencies specified as an array. sapply(minn38,

Here's my simple code: #### cheese library(MASS) options(contrasts = c("contr.treatment", "contr.poly")) y = c(0,0, 1, 7, 8,8,19, 8,1, 6,9,12,11, 7,6, 1, 0,0, 1,1, 6, 8,23,7,

for loop query
Hi all, apologies if this is obvious - but I can't see it and would appreciate some quick help! the matrix mhouse is 26x3 and I'm computing odds ratios. The simple code below "should" compute the odds vector for every pair (325) i.e. 26C2 in cols 1 and 2. On the first i=1 outer loop the inner j loop runs from 2 to 26 ok and then I get the error (Error: subscript out of bounds)

timings for examples in R CMD check
I'm having a very hard time making R CMD check produce a clean check on examples because of the timings inserted into examples by R CMD check. I am getting a difference on every example output caused by timing information being inserted by 'R CMD check'. The current 'Writing R Extensions' manual[1] states on p. 14: If directory tests has a subdirectory Examples

'R CMD INSTALL mypkg' doesn't always update help pages
Hi, 'R CMD INSTALL mypkg' and 'install.packages(mypkg, repos=NULL)' don't update mypkg help pages when mypkg is a source directory. They only install new help pages if there are some but they leave the already installed pages untouched. So you end up with mixed man pages from different versions of the package :-/ I found no mention of this in 'R CMD INSTALL --help' or

Work with packages without using R CMD build/install
Hello, for my small project I would like to organize the data, functions and documentation as a package. I have already created a skeleton directory structure with DESCRIPTION file and put some files in the R, man and data subdirectories. Now I would like to work on the package without calling R CMD build/install after each change. In fact, I do not have the build tools installed yet (I am on

possible bug R CMD check: No space(s) allowed after \VignetteDepends{}
R CMD check gives an error when a vignette entry %\VignetteDepends{} has any extra space at the end. Maybe this is by design, but I found it confusing. Changing the function "vignetteMetaRE" in tools package could solve the problem. I.e. vignetteMetaRE <- function(tag) paste("[[:space:]]*%+[[:space:]]*\\\\Vignette", tag,"\\{([^}]*)\\}", sep = "")
