libvorbis on Classic MacOS
Hi all,
Those of you uninterested in classic MacOS as a target will probably
want to skip this email. I'm revisiting this platform, trying to get
music going for the game I'm working on. We're obviously using
OggVorbis on the other platforms we support (osx, linux, win32).
The problem is that our classic MacOS build is currently under MPW/MrC.
I can compile libogg/libvorbis fine

Running R on MacOS X
Hi there -- I downloaded the MacOS X binaries of R and followed the
instructions on installing it, and when I go to perform a tree function, I
get the error "Error: couldn't find function "tree"". Do I need to somehow
preload the function? If so, how do I do that?
Also, update.packages() works for some packages, but not all -- it often
fails in the compilation. I have

Running on MacOS X
Good Morning !
I am trying to run R on MacOS X using XFree86 4.2.0
when I try to run it, I get the following error message
"dyld: /usr/local/lib/R/bin/R.bin version mismatch for library:
/sw/lib/libpng.2.dylib (compatibility version of user: 1.0.12 greater
than library's version: 1.0.10)

I hope you have some ideas what the problem is and how I can fix it.
thanks for your

R-1.5.1 for MacOS X
I just downloaded and installed R-1.5.1 for MacOS X on my Macintosh HD by
"Upgrade", but cannot find the application in my directory (or by searching).
All that I can find are the sw:lib files and the several packages in my
"Receipts" folder. Can anyone tell me how to access the application?
Thanks,

MacOS X: update.packages(type="mac.binary") fails (PR#7834)
Dear Mr Moderator, please let me through. I want to reply to my own
thread. I once subscribed to this list, but then my subscription was not
accepted.
Now to the business:
The final failure came from missing .install.macbinary() function. I
grepped R-patched sourcesand the only instance of .install.macbinary()
was the call to the function in R-

MacOS X: update.packages(type="mac.binary") fails (PR#7836)
Message 2 of today: it works now.
After re-installing R.app from the same R-2.1.0.dmg file, and
fixInNamespace'ing(*) install.packages(), I managed to update 23
outdated packages from CRAN binaries for MacOS X. What I did was to:
1. change call to .install.macbinaries() into call to install.binaries()
in install.packages(). install.binaries() is a function defined
utils/R/aqua/GUI.R.

LLVM 9.0.0 prebuilt binaries for MacOS
Hello,
I noticed that there are no prebuilt binaries available for MacOS for
the latest LLVM 9.0.0 release http://releases.llvm.org/download.html.
Official prebuilt binaries for MacOS are available for 8.0.0 on that
same page, so I wonder if there's any chance we'll get them for 9.0.0 ?
Thanks,

R on MacOS X
I'm just wondering if anyone has had any luck installing on X/Darwin?
I'd be very grateful if you could drop me a note if you've been successful. I've built the binaries, but the ./configure goes wrong towards the end, with lots of messages telling me about "unescaped new lines".
Cheers

Binary releases for versions 10 and 11 do not work on macOS 10.11.6
Hello,
I'm on macOS 10.11.6 and I've downloaded different versions of the
binary releases from https://releases.llvm.org/download.html.
Version 9.0.1 works correctly. However versions 10.0.0 and 11.0.0
do not work; I think the system libc++ is too old:
```
$ ~/Downloads/clang+llvm-10.0.0-x86_64-apple-darwin/bin/clang --version
Installing contributed packages on MacOS X: Solved!
I had run into problems when compiling some contributed packages to an
installation of R 1.40 by fink on MacOS X. Namely, packages KernSmooth
(2.22-7) and cluster (1.4-0) would not find required libraries, though those
were present on the system.
Jeff Whitaker, the maintainer of the R fink packages, kindly sent me this:
MacOS X binaries won't install
I've tried installing the MacOS X binaries for R available at:
http://www.bioconductor.org/CRAN/
I'm running MacOS X version 10.2.8.
I get a message indicating the installation is successful, but when I
double-click on the R icon that shows up in my Applications folder, the
application seems to try to open but closes immediately.
I looked for /Library/Frameworks/R.framework (by
