MS executables for my libraries
An executable version 0.6 of my libraries is now available at www.luc.ac.be/~jlindsey/rcode.html This works with MS R0.64.2 and appears possibly to work with R65.0. There is a serious problem with the Fortran compiler as some of the examples for elliptic and carma crash it. These same examples do not crash R63.0 with the library executables of Jan 99. I am releasing this anyway because of the

stochastic course notes with R
I have just put the postscript file for the first draft of a manuscript of a course on The Statistical Analysis of Stochastic Processes in Time, as well as the R code to do all of the examples, on my web page at www.luc.ac.be/~jlindsey/manuscripts.html The chapters are Part I Basic principles 1. Install repeated library
Hello - I cannot get to www.alpha.luc.ac.be/~jlindsey/rcode.html<http://www.alpha.luc.ac.be/%7Ejlindsey/rcode.html>to obtain and install the repeated library for use of glmm(). Is the web page not active? Can you give me an alternative location to obtain the repeated library? Thank you, Becky Parker [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

dna library
I have just placed version 0.2 alpha of my library, dna, on my web page at www.luc.ac.be/~jlindsey/rcode.html The R functions in this library cover most of the basic methods of dna and protein sequence analysis. The library includes ports of CLUSTAL W for multiple sequence alignment and flip for finding open reading frames in a dna sequence. There are an enormous number of interesting and

RE: zero-inflated count models (was polr problem solved)
John Fox wrote <<< >From your description, it seems possible that there are too many zeros for a Poisson or negative-binomial model. Since the focus of your paper is the methodology, you might want to try a zero-inflated Poisson or negative-binomial model. Though I haven't tried them, I'm aware of two sources of R functions for zero-inflated count models -- zeroinfl(), from

--Multipart_Wed_Feb__4_12:25:40_1998-1 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Jim, I am relating your message to R-devel. This should be discussed in a broader audience; I am not an expert on GLM's, I know you are and others on this group also... R-develers, please CC to Jim Lindsey (on this topic), since he hasn't been part of the R-devel list for a while.. BTW: I will be gone

R-alpha: thoughts on batch and fortran
Batch: For me, batch in its present state is broken and useless. My primary need for batch is to produce a final output file of a session after I have worked out a sequence of procedures. I save my instructions in a file that I can source, then run it in batch to have a copy of input and output together. (If there was a log file (or dribble), this problem would be solved.) At present, there are

package "growth" ... where is it ?
I would like to install the package "growth" as it contains the function "corgram" and some other presumably useful stuff for time series analysis. I can see it is in R standard library list: http://hosho.ees.hokudai.ac.jp/~kubo/Rdoc/doc/html/packages.html<http://hosho.ees.hokudai.ac.jp/%7Ekubo/Rdoc/doc/html/packages.html>

Installing Lindsey's packages
Dear r-helpers, I downloaded http://popgen.unimaas.nl/~jlindsey/rcode/rmutil.tar (it was originally .tgz, but got unzipped by my browser). Can anyone give me detailed instructions on installing this and Lindsey's other packages on R version 2.4.0 (2006-10-03)---(powerpc- apple-darwin8.7.0, locale: C)? _____________________________ Professor Michael Kubovy University of Virginia

lme
Doug, I thought perhaps that you might be interested in the comparison of lme to the results for the same models fitted by Richard Jones' carma (I just wrote the R interface to his Fortran code). The code to run the example from the lme help and for the equivalent with carma is in the file below. The two main differences in results are 1. the random coefficients covariance matrix is quite
