Hi, My costumers are logged in on my Asterisk PBX through XLite Softphone (SIP). My server is connected to PSTN. Problem is when SIP phone calls ordinary phone via dahdi I get DAHDI/1-1 ANSWERED SIP/number-number and billsec field from cdr is start counting. Is it normal behavior ? Can I change that ? So channel gets in ANSWERED state and billsec starts as soon as line starts to ring even if no

GPL and R Community Policies (Rcpp)
This post asks members of the R community, users and developers, to comment on issues related to the GNU Public License and R community policies more generally. The GPL says very little about protecting the the rights of original contributors by not disseminating misleading information about them. Indeed, for pragmatic reasons it effectively assumes that original authors have no rights regarding

Not with the trademark, that is mis-appropriation. If you want to complain about Red Hat doing this, then you'll want to complain about a number of distributors well before

Stallman @ NYU
I did manage to dv-tape this from the front row, and thus got pretty fair audio, but a slightly awkward camera angle. NYU Media Lab had a tripod set up at the back, and were apparently intending to webcast the results via real. They were a little taken aback when I mentioned Richard's aversion to propietary formats, and thanked me profusely for pointing it out, and saving them grief.

Ross Ihaka's reflections on Common Lisp and R
I came across a quite interesting post from Ross Ihaka, thought would be good to share it and get the opinion of folks around here. I am not sure where to post this for the R community but since it has to do with development I thought or R-devel Ross Ihaka Newsgroups: comp.lang.lisp From: Ross Ihaka <ih... at stat.auckland.ac.nz> Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 10:35:26 +1300 Local: Tues, Jan 22

[R-downunder] las with stripchart
Hi Ross - I believe I was wrong in thinking that passing via the ... list to stripchart() was ever allowed. Here are patches: Add ... to the argument list Add, at the beginning of the function: pars <- list(...) There are two calls to axis(). Modify these to: axis(1, at = at, labels = names(groups), las=pars$las) axis(2, at = at, labels = names(groups), las=pars$las) Also

[LLVMdev] compilation failure on OS X powerpc
The reason I didn't use Xcode 2.4 is because I'm running OS X 10.3.9 (Panther). I have not upgraded the OS to 10.4. Xcode 2.4 requires OS X 10.4, according to Apple's website. Do you know otherwise? I think the highest Xcode I can get is 1.5. By the way what does FSF mean? I also tried compiling llvm with the gcc 3.3 that comes with OS X 10.3, and it gave the exact same error

Hi: I posted about this 2 days ago but saw no responses, so I'm posting again, with hopefully more detail. Jobs at the University of Auckland
We have two lectureship positions advertised at the moment. One (or both) of these is intended for a specialist in statistical computation. The salary doesn't look great by international standards but there are compensations: housing is cheap, the air is clean, and the worlds problems are far away. We also have a track record of getting tenure for computing people.

I have installed in the server a QoS policy and I have configured the firewall for allowing all the clients to connect. I attach the script. The idea is that when a client connect this pc the dhcp gives him an

How can you buy R? [Broadcast]
My understanding is that if a licensee wants to redistribute GPL code (or work derived from GPL code), then it has to be done under GPL as well, meaning the person must make it known to users that they can have access to the source code if so desired, and they can do anything they want with that code (including selling), but GPL must remain in force for further redistribution. FSF used to sell

What happened to Ross Ihaka's proposal for a Common Lisp based R successor?
Is it conceivable that Julia could be ported to use R syntax in a way that would allow the vastly larger numbers of R programmers to seamlessly switch? Or equivalently, could an iteration of R itself do this?
