R-beta: t.test
As a very new user of R, and a user of S with very
limited experience, I thought I would start humbly
with a simple t.test.
The response to the command sequence
sample <- scan()
4 5 6 7 8 9
t.test(sample,mu=20)
rather surprised me, because of the idiosyncratic
choice of a confidence interval for the mean of the
population from which the sample was drawn. I asked

T-test syntax question
Hi.
I'd like to do a t-test to compare the Delta values of items with Crit=1
with Delta values of items with Crit=0. What is the t.test syntax?
It should produce a result like this below (I can't get in touch with the
person who originally did this for me)
Welch Two Sample t-test
data: t1$Delta by Crit
t = -3.4105, df = 8.674, p-value = 0.008173 alternative hypothesis: true

[PATCH 2/2] drm/bochs: fix framebuffer setup.
If bo->width doesn't match fb->width the driver fails to configure
the display correctly, resulting in a scrambled display. Fix it.

[PATCH v2] drm/bochs: fix framebuffer setup.
The driver doesn't consider framebuffer pitch and offset, leading to a
wrong display in case offset != 0 or pitch != width * bpp. Fix it.

[PATCH v3 2/5] drm/bochs: pass framebuffer to bochs_hw_setbase
Also rename to bochs_hw_setfb, we have to set more
than just the base address.

[PATCH v3 4/5] drm/bochs: drop stride and bpp from struct bochs_device
No need to store that, struct drm_framebuffer has all we need.
Also update VBE_DISPI_INDEX_VIRT_WIDTH register, otherwise we'll
have a fixes broken display in case pitch != width * cpp.

[PATCH v3] drm/bochs: add drm_driver.release callback.
Call bochs_unload via drm_driver.release to make sure we release stuff
when it is safe to do so. Use drm_dev_{enter,exit,unplug} to avoid
touching hardware after device removal. Tidy up here and there.

I am trying to write a function that will simulate observed counts X and
Y as below, I want the function to be able give many replicates, can
somebody advise?
thanks

Weighted Mean Confidence Interval
Hello,
I'm looking to calculate a 95% confidence interval about my estimate for
a sample's weighted mean, where the calculated confidence interval would
equal the t-test confidence interval of the sample in the case when all
of the weights are equal.
My initial thought was to simply implement a modified version of the
t-test function but substituting the weighted variance and mean for the

SPlus to R
I'm trying to convert an S-Plus program to R. Since I'm a SAS programmer I'm not facile is either S-Plus or R, so I need some help. All I did was convert the underscores in S-Plus to the assignment operator <-. Here are the first few lines of the S-Plus file:
sshc _ function(rc, nc, d, method, alpha=0.05, power=0.8,
tol=0.01, tol1=.0001, tol2=.005, cc=c(.1,2),

[LLVMdev] Adding instructions to MachineBlock
Hello,
I am writing a MachineFunction pass that converts vector instructions
to a sequence of scalar instructions. First, I go through the function
and look for vector registers. For each vector register, I create a
set of corresponding scalar registers using createVirtualRegister()
function and put it in a map. Then I go through the function and
replace vector instructions.The basic structure of

Beginner's question about t.test()
Dear All,
I am doing some exercise in statistics textbook on comparison of two
experimental means. Is it possible to use t.test() do t-test when I have
only two means, sample size, two standard deviations ? (no raw data).
Thanks.

Very strange function() behaviour.
Hi, R newb here. I've coded a function that inputs N dimensional array(s) [or
class=numeric if it's dim=1] of coefficients and tstats, where
dim(coef_matrix)=dim(tstat_matrix), it will then output a same dimension
matrix of coefficients pasted to tstats in brackets pasted to significance
stars.
If I go straight to the code INSIDE the function, it works 100% as it's
supposed to. The

ManageSieve v0.10.0 released for Dovecot 1.1.beta15
Hello Dovecot users,
I finally managed to upgrade the ManageSieve implementation to
dovecot-1.1. This also resulted in major restructuring of the code. The
actual ManageSieve implementation is now available as a separate package
and the patch now only contains the changes to the dovecot-1.1 tree that
are necessary to use the ManageSieve service. The patch and the new
package no longer
