xen-4.1: PV domain hanging at startup, jiffies stopped
Hey,
I''m experiencing strange problem: non-deterministic PV domain hang, only
on some machines (with fast SSD drive). I''ve tried xen-4.1.0 and
xen-4.1.1 with many kernels different kernels:
VM:
- 2.6.38.3 xenlinux based on SUSE package
- vanilla 3.0.3
- vanilla 3.1 rc2
dom0:
- 2.6.38.3 xenlinux based on SUSE package
- vanilla 3.1 rc2
Result always the same: sometimes VM

bug in xc_gntshr_munmap?
Hi,
Header says:
/*
* Unmaps the @count pages starting at @start_address, which were mapped by a
* call to xc_gntshr_share_*. Never logs.
*/
int xc_gntshr_munmap(xc_gntshr *xcg, void *start_address, uint32_t count);
But implementation calls:
static int linux_gntshr_munmap(xc_gntshr *xcg, xc_osdep_handle h,
void *start_address, uint32_t count)

High CPU temp, suspend problem - xen 4.1.5-pre, linux 3.7.x
Hi,
I''ve still have problems with ACPI(?) on Xen. After some system startup or
resume CPU temperature goes high although all domUs (and dom0) are idle. On
"good" system startup it is about 50-55C, on "bad" - above 67C (most time
above 70C). I''ve noticed difference in C-states repored by Xen (attached
files). On "bad" startups in addition suspend

[PATCH 35/35] x86: Don't panic if can not alloc buffer for swiotlb
Normal boot path on system with iommu support:
swiotlb buffer will be allocated early at first and then try to initialize
iommu, if iommu for intel or AMD could setup properly, swiotlb buffer
will be freed.
The early allocating is with bootmem, and could panic when we try to use
kdump with buffer above 4G only, or with memmap to limit mem under 4G.
for example: memmap=4095M$1M to remove memory

[PATCH] libxl: make nic 'bridge' parameter optional - do not fill default
Do not set ''bridge'' parameter - let vif-bridge script to do
autodetection. Actually ''network-bridge'' never creates xenbr0 interface
by default, so defaulting bridge to xenbr0 is senseless.

passthrough PCI SCSI device
I have a sles10sp3 vm that I''m trying to passthrough a scsi card, which
has a DLT tape drive attached. Anyone doing anything similar?
When I passthrough the scsi card (forced to do both ports), the vm dies
when it loads, I think during udev. I''m viewing the vm through
virt-manager, so I can''t scroll up and see what everything says.
Is there a way to get the text xm

[PATCH v2] drm/bochs: downgrade pci_request_region failure from error to warning
Shutdown of firmware framebuffer has a bunch of problems. Because
of this the framebuffer region might still be reserved even after
drm_fb_helper_remove_conflicting_pci_framebuffers() returned.
Don't consider pci_request_region() failure for the framebuffer
region as fatal error to workaround this issue.

[PATCH] xen: remove CONFIG_XEN_DOM0 compile option
XEN_DOM0 is a silent option that has been automatically selected when
CONFIG_XEN is selected since 6b0661a5e6fbf. If this option was changed
to a menu configurable option then it would only give users the ability
to compile out about 100 kbytes of code. As that option makes little
sense to choose, and the option isn''t menu selectable anyway, then we
can clean up some code by simply

PCI Passthrough not working
I am running Xen 4.6 on CentOS 7 in a Dell Poweredge T430
I need PCI Passthrough to get USB working. I am following the Xenproject Wiki
I have enabled the Virtulasation in the BIOS.
I have xen_pciback as a module
I have issued the command:
xl pci-assignable-add 00:1a0.0 and it shows up fine when I issue this xl pci-assignable-list
I have pci=['00:1a.0'] on the DomU config file

Accessing console for Xen 4.0 with 2.6.31 pvops kernel on Dell Poweredge R610
I am currently using a Dell PowerEdge server R610 with Xen 4.0 installed and
the 2.6.31.13 pvops kernel.
I am accessing the server console using the iDRAC KVM feature of the dell
management console.
Does anyone know how to configure the console option in the grub menu so
that all the boot messages can be seen on the
mgmt console?
Currently I can view only the Xen bootup messages if I dont specify
