The only build requirement for Libksba itself is the libgpg-error package. There are no other dependencies; actual cryptographic operations need to be done by the user. Libksba is distributed under the LGPLv3+/GPLv2+.

GPG 1.0.3 doesn't detect modifications to files with multiple signatures
Hi! Jim is right. There is a bug in all GnuPG versions up to 1.0.3: If you have more than one cleartext signature in a file (or pipe that to gpg), gpg does not compare each signature but flags each document as good or bad depending on the first document in the file. This is a very serious bug in gpg's verification function. I have made a snapshot version which corrects this bug available

A new snapshot
Hi, I have released a new snapshot of GnuPG, I hope this is one of the last ones before 1.0.2 ;-) This is still a BETA VERSION and not intended for general use. ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/pub/gcrypt/devel/gnupg-1.0.1e.tar.gz (1600k) The usual diff file is also available, but this time there is only a detached signature for this diff file, because I noticed to late that the --not-dash-escaped option

Still hitting odd problems trying to install R 3.5.2 on Debian amd64 machine
My Emails a week or so back were about installing Rstudio and the R shiny server on Debian. I was using an old Toshiba laptop as a sandbox for that and it would only install i386 (same for Ubuntu). Using the information at https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/ I did get to the point where I had R 3.5.2, Rstudio and the server on there (with some help from Dirk that is in the list archives).

/etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem erased by OpenSuse's update mechanism
Thanks for the note. I had never seen anything in the postfix and apache documentation that the CRLs could be intermingled with the CRTs in the CRT file. The documentation for those programs suggests putting the CRLs in a separate file (e.g. apache SSLCARevocationFile) or doesn't talk about putting CRLs in with the certs (e.g. postfix smtpd_tls_cert_file). If it works to put them all in one

ssl_require_crl does not work as expected
Hi I'm trying to use dovecot with client certificates. We produce our certificates with our on CA and we do NOT use certificate revocation lists. So I put "ssl_require_crl = no" into 10-ssl.conf. I did not find a solution neither in the wiki nor somewhere else, so I finally started to read the source. My impression is that openssl will always try to use CRLs. If

[Announce] sha1sum for MS Windows released
Hi! In the light of the recently found weaknesses in the MD5 hash function we won't anymore accompany software announcements with MD5 checksums. Instead SHA-1 checksums will be given. All modern GNU/Linux systems are featuring a sha1sum tool, similar to the md5sum too, so this there should be no problem checking the checksums on these platforms. For MS Windows no such tool is available. To

However, the standard GnuPG 1.4.x will build just fine on any Unix based system.

/etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem erased by OpenSuse's update mechanism
Why not /etc/dovecot/private? That's where I put my dovecot certs. Dovecot's needs are a bit different from other software, and so it is unclear whether the files won't be unique to it. For example, I haven't seen the following before I read it on the Dovecot wiki: "The CA file should contain the certificate(s) followed by the matching CRL(s). Note that the CRLs are required
