Lightscribe
I just bought an HP DVD Writer 1040r (as identified by k3b), an external USB-connected CD/DVD burner. The drive gets assigned /dev/scd0. I can burn CDs and DVDs, read from CDs and DVDs, boot from DVDs (and, I assume, CDs) but have been unable to use the lightscribe software to label a disk. I have lightscribe-1.18.11.1-0 and lightscribeApplications-1.18.6.1-0 installed, can run the GUI at

Problems with SATA DVD+-RW drive
I just got a Dell Dimension e521 (AMD 64 x2, nVidia MCP51 chipset) and so far it has been fine. Today I tried to burn some CD-R and DVD-R disks and have been able to do nothing but make coasters. The drive is a TSST TS-H653a (Samsung OEM) and does have the current firmware. Playing back data, audio, and video disks work just fine, but recording is a different matter. The drive shows up as

Problem with automatic mounting of disc drive (Ubuntu 11.10)
Hi! First of all, WINE is great! There is only one little inconvenience for me: I am using WINE 1.2 under Ubuntu 11.10. It automatically mounts CDs and DVDs at /media/(disc name). So whenever I insert a new disc, I have to change the configuration of WINE which is a bit annoying. I could not find any help via Google. On ubuntuforum.org I was told to point WINE to the device itself (/dev/sr0)

KDE and mounting CD's / DVD's without noexec
Hi e, I am normally use gnome and would do the following to make my CD / DVD mount with exec gnome-mount --write-settings --device /dev/sdc0 -o exec What is the equivalent in KDE ? My initial research suggests that I actually have to write a custom udev rule to achieve this. This has led me as far as running udevinfo -q path -n /dev/scd0 udevtest /block/sr0 (the output is below) My

It says there that you can mount an image by: xm block-attach 0 tap:aio:<FILENAME> /dev/xvda1 w 0 mount /dev/xvda1 /mnt/disk <--- don''t use loop driver This option also appears in: http://wiki.rpath.com/wiki/Xen_DomU_Guide I assume that this option is not

[IMPORTANT BUGFIX][ACM][XM] FIX essential security check in block-attach / indentation problem introduced in change set changeset 11572
This patch fixes an indentation error in main.py. The effect of this bug is that block-attach does not check labels if the ACM is active. This bug slipped in with change set 11572_:_ ad22c711ccb7 <http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-unstable.hg?cs=ad22c711ccb7>. This patch is essential and should get into 3.0.3. I tested the patch with security off and on. Thanks Reiner P.S. We are

Bug#695645: xen-utils-common: xm block-attach does not create /dev/xvd* devices on dom0
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.3-6 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer, I am trying to run the following command on a dom0 Debian server in order to mount a vmware vmdk. I don't want to use kpartx or losetup as they have poor write performance and I'm hoping blktap will provide better performance. xm block-attach 0 tap:vmdk:/mnt/backup/3MSYDDP01/3MSYDDP01_2-flat.vmdk /dev/xvda1 w 0

Natulius CD burner does not accept my 700Mb CD-R disks
When I try to burn anything to cd, I get a message to insert a CD large enough for my file (normally an ISO image). Doesn't matter if the iso image is a 600Mb Centos ISO or a 48Mb DSL ISO. Same warning. My CD-Rs are Memorex 700MB/80min 52x disks that work just fine on XP systems. So what am I missing configuration-wise?

behaviour of ''xm block-attach'' changed with 3.1.2?
''xm block-attach'' doesn''t let me assign the same backend device anymore, even if I use ''r!'' or ''w!''. I think this has changed since 3.1.1 (or maybe since 3.1.0). Is this the way it is supposed to work? Thanks James _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com
