failed exaile install
I'm trying to install the exaile package on my newly upgraded CentOS 6.4 machine.
It fails (see below) with missing dependencies on python-cddb and gnome-python2-gtkmozembed.
I found this thread but there does not seem to be any resolution. \
Has anyone got this installed?
Am I missing a repo?
Thanks,
Steve

Is every CentOS release supported for 7 years?
Hi,
I've read some posts in the forums which seems to indicate that not
every CentOS version is well supported. Is it possible to install
CentOS 5.5 on a server and only apply security updates for 7 years? Or
is the preferred way to upgrade to each minor version? Thanks in
advance!

ath9k in CentOS 5
Hi,
I'm thinking about updating the wireless card on a CentOS 5.3 box.
The Wiki at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/Wireless says that
the "ath9k driver ships with CentOS", but I can't find it. I've tried
modinfo, locate, yum search, and yum provides, but they all come up
empty. Am I missing something, or is the Wiki need correcting? I've

That RTL8169 thing...
Motherboard - Intel DG41TY
Device: RealTek: 8111D
Driver: RTL8169
Causes Kernel panic during install and boot.

It seems that the newer the card that uses this driver, the worse the problems are.
Is there any plan to roll a newer version into the installer or the actual distribution itself?
Thanks,
-Drew

the wandering MAC?
Hi all,
I have what appears to be a truly puzzling problem. I've got this P4
32-bit machine running CentOS 5.5 with XEN that has two NICs: one
onboard, an Intel Corporation 82540EM Gigabit and one on an expansion
card, Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit. The second one
is recognized as eth1.
What's happening is, it is showing up under one of the two MAC's:

Has the support for these chipsets been added to yum

Automated RPMForge Repository Installation Script for Tips & Tricks section
Hello.
With the help of the community I finished polishing the translation of
my PHP script to Bash version
http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=20222&forum=38
It has now autodetection of architecture and CentOS version and handles errors.

I know this is OT but.... :-)
Not sure if you guys have ever come across www.xoops.org
<http://www.xoops.org/> but it's this amazing open source cms platform.
It's extremely well developed with a heap of innovations and has just
undergone the latest revision to 2.2.3 with even easier access to module

Editing HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
I'd like to ask for permission to edit HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey.
There was a recent forum thread on using Windows tools to create an
installation USB
(https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=44268&forum=55).
I'd tried some suggested tools; see post no 20 in the thread. I'd like
to edit the Wiki to reflect my results.

5.5 ISO size vs RHEL
Hi
We use CentOS and RHEL, the 5.5 RHEL ISO for x86_64 is 3.7GB (**), the CentOS one
is 4602MB (***) split over two DVDs. Is this reasonable and correct? Any ideas
why would there be such a discrepancy if they are built from the same (or very
similar) source?
Regards
Anthony Caetano
