Hi ,
Created new thread .

Re: Fwd: Haswell 4770 misidentified as Sandy Bridge
Kashyap: I have not tried integrating your guest xml but I will look over
it today when I get a chance. Thank you.
Martin: Below is the output from /proc/cpuinfo. Let me know if there is
anything else that would be helpful in debugging this. Thank you,

Hi All,
I have recently installed CentOS 6.3 with QEMU+KVM for Virtualization.
I have successfully created a Windows 2003 VM with 4GB of RAM. The host
server is an HP ML350 G8 with 24GB RAM and 24 cores. Details of one of
the cores is shown below:

CPU Usage statistics Issue
Hey,
I''m currently trying to measure the CPU Usage of a process that''s
running on a Linode VM, which is virtualised using Xen. It appears to
exhibit very weird CPU Usage statistics and I was wondering if anyone
could explain how/why this is happening. I am running a series of
processes, each of which entirely pegs a core.
Pegging 1 Core = 14% of CPU
Pegging 2 Cores = 28% of

pv_ops dom0 kernel: /proc/cpuinfo shows 0.000 MHz
I just noticed something interesting with the pv_ops dom0 kernel that I
built from Jeremy''s git tree. When I run ''cat /proc/cpuinfo'' the output
shows the processors have 0.000 MHz. Everything runs fine I just
thought it was interesting.

Hi All,
I'm trying to install a VM on host OS (Redhat 6.1, KVM hypervisor).
I've installed all the required RPMs for KVM and libvirt tools.

Haswell 4770 misidentified as Sandy Bridge
Hi,
I'm running libvert on a Debian 7 system. I have upgraded libvert and qemu
from source (v1.06 and 1.5.0 respectively) and the problem persists. The
guest OS is also a Debian 7 system running a non-SMP kernel. The error
message from virt-manager is
Error starting domain: unsupported configuration: guest and host CPU are
not compatible: Host CPU does not provide required features: rtm,

Re: My domU cpuinfo shows "cache seize: 16KB" ater upgrading to Xen-3.3.0... but in Xen-3.2 it has 2048KB!
No one knows about this?!
It''s normal for domU in Xen-3.3 to have only 16KB of CPU cache size?
Thanks!

More than doubling performance with snow
Hey my R buddies,
I installed the "snow" and "rpvm" package on my Lenovo Thinkpad T400
today. The experiment below gave me a surprise. The time consumed by
serial processing was several times larger than that taken by parallel
processing. I'm very curious how this happened. Thank you very much.

kernel messages: alignment check: 0000 [#1] SMP
Hi,
This is just to report about the "alignment check: 0000 [#1] SMP"
kernel messages in one of my build system (domU) running Scientific
Linux 6.1.
I am compiling/rpm package for sbcl (http://sbcl.sourceforge.net/) in
my build system (domU) and hit the following kernel messages although
the domU in question still running and compilation still in progress.
I have done some searching

Xen 3.3.0 cpu cache problems
Dear Xen users,
I have a problem with "Xen 3.3.0". All domU (paravirt) only have "32 KB"
of cache instead of "6144 KB" as listed in dom0. This is really
noticeable under load since the system tends to be really slow.
I did not have this problem with "Xen 3.2.1".
I''m using the same domU configuration files for the new and the old
installation.

NUMA placement failed, performance might be affected
I just did a yum update on a CentOS 7 / Xen 4.6 server which took me from kernel-3.18.34-20.el7.x86_64 -> kernel-3.18.44-20.el7.x86_64
After rebooting, the following notice is printed immediately upon xl create'ing a domain: libxl: notice: libxl_numa.c:499:libxl__get_numa_candidate: NUMA placement failed, performance might be affected
Indeed performance is significantly degraded. This

APIC error on CPU0: 60(60)
I have a lot of this errors in my Centos stock 4.3 version in an Intel
D945gnt motherboard with a Pentium D (dual core)
If I disable apic in the grub.conf (apic=off) will I get a performance
hit? Im running Asterisk on that machine.
40 is Received Illegal Vector
20 is Send Illegal Vector
60 means you're getting both errors at the same time.
Basically it means that the APIC bus messages are
