Java Setup
Hi People
I have been following the instructions here
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaOnCentOS but trying to modify them for
jdk-6u7-linux-amd64.rpm but there doesn't see to be a compatible
java-1.6.0-sun-compat-*.rpm. Does one exist ?
If not can anyone point me to some documentation on how I can manually
set up things so alternatives will work allowing multiple Java versions.

HowTos/JavaOnCentOS Wiki page revision?
Hi all,
in respect of the "recent" CentOS forum thread, (found here
https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=28126&forum=38)
I wrote a "Sun/Oracle Java Installation Manual for CentOS 5" - posted on
my Wiki Profile page, http://wiki.centos.org/MilosBlazevic?action=show
and would like update the Java Wiki page with this content.

OT: redhat training and RHES6
Greetings.
I am planning on getting my RHCE in the near future. I thinking I
should wait until 6 comes out before proceeding. That being said, I
don't want to wait past the end of this year.
That being said, do you all have any information about how long it takes
for their training platform to catch up to their release? Which is to
say, if RHES 6 is released on day 1, at what point

Review and maintenance of the JavaOnCentOS article.
Hello everyone!
In a CentOS forum thread[1], I was asked by forum member "AlanJBartlett"
if I would like to take on the care and feeding of the latter (section
3?) part of the "JavaOnCentOS" article.
Initially, I would like to correct the Sun JDK 1.6 part, which instructs
readers to download the wrong Sun JDK file (there are two, one .bin and
one rpm.bin) for the actual

Thanks for pointing this out, it looks like they removed the newer
GLIBCXX requirement that was added for 8.10, possibly due to popular demand?

xorg-x11-drv-intel CR update breaks X server for Intel HD520
Hi,
As a consequence of rolling out CR updates on Latitude E7470 (Skylake
chipset), X would no longer start until I rolled back all of the
xorg-\* packages. And to be more precise, looks like the culprit is
xorg-x11-drv-intel:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1445583
as the CR package release version matches the one mentioned in Comment
#2, in the regression context.

wiki and author/maintainer name
Hi all,
I think that every wiki page should have a name(s) of the
author/maintainer of that page like in:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaOnCentOS
The name that appears at the bottom is not adequate because it could
be someone who has just corrected a typo. In fact, that entry can be
eliminated once the contact info has been given on the page.
The whole purpose of this is of course to make

Release 6?
Since 5.5 is now out from Red Hat and most likely our amazing CentOS
team has already jumped on that, is there any word on Release 6? IIRC
it's already a year out of date (base was supposed to be Fedora 10),
so I have to wonder.
I didn't see anything jump out at me on the Red Hat site, so - anyone?
Thanks.

hplip under CentOS-5.5
Is anyone successfully using hplip under CentOS?

JRE 8.1 for CentOS6
I have some software that says it requires JRE 8.1 or higher. If I go
to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
and install jre-8u144-linux-x64.rpm I get jrel.8.0_144. Anyone know
where I can get 8.1?

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Defining Infinite Loops
Hello everyone,
The topic of whether or not LLVM allows for infinite loops has come up a lot recently (several times this week already). Regarding motivation, there are two important facts:
1. Some languages, such as Java, have well-defined infinite loops. See:
http://docs.oracle.com/javase/specs/jls/se7/html/jls-17.html#jls-17.4.9

Problems with Broadcom 4312 wireless
Hello David,
In brief, I've solved this problem on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (with
Broadcom 4312 wireless card), so I figured letting You know would be
nice, 'cause it didn't seem like the issue is resolved.
Visit this link:
http://jomcode.com/fadhil/?p=59
and in addition check out the comment on the same page by Andre Kiepe to
have the modules load on boot.
Best Regards,
Milos.

I've been looking into the Capture Tracking Improvements and I was
wondering if there was any research/documentation that you know of that
I could use as background reading?
Many thanks,

wiki access
Hi,
since I, just hours ago, followed
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaOnCentOS (Sun's JDK) I thought I'd
confirm and update the "A less simple approach" with information that's
a bit newer than jdk 1.4.

Furthermore, I'd like to ask you if anyone know what was meant by the
comment on the wiki:
