HowTos/JavaOnCentOS Wiki page revision?
Hi all, in respect of the "recent" CentOS forum thread, (found here https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=28126&forum=38) I wrote a "Sun/Oracle Java Installation Manual for CentOS 5" - posted on my Wiki Profile page, http://wiki.centos.org/MilosBlazevic?action=show and would like update the Java Wiki page with this content. Problems with Broadcom 4312 wireless
Hello David, In brief, I've solved this problem on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (with Broadcom 4312 wireless card), so I figured letting You know would be nice, 'cause it didn't seem like the issue is resolved. Visit this link: http://jomcode.com/fadhil/?p=59 and in addition check out the comment on the same page by Andre Kiepe to have the modules load on boot. Best Regards, Milos.

OT: redhat training and RHES6
Greetings. I am planning on getting my RHCE in the near future. I thinking I should wait until 6 comes out before proceeding. That being said, I don't want to wait past the end of this year. That being said, do you all have any information about how long it takes for their training platform to catch up to their release? Which is to say, if RHES 6 is released on day 1, at what point

xorg-x11-drv-intel CR update breaks X server for Intel HD520
Hi, As a consequence of rolling out CR updates on Latitude E7470 (Skylake chipset), X would no longer start until I rolled back all of the xorg-\* packages. And to be more precise, looks like the culprit is xorg-x11-drv-intel: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1445583 as the CR package release version matches the one mentioned in Comment #2, in the regression context.

Release 6?
Since 5.5 is now out from Red Hat and most likely our amazing CentOS team has already jumped on that, is there any word on Release 6? IIRC it's already a year out of date (base was supposed to be Fedora 10), so I have to wonder. I didn't see anything jump out at me on the Red Hat site, so - anyone? Thanks. mhr

Is anyone successfully using hplip under CentOS? When I try to print on my HP Officejet J4580 I always get the error ---------------------------------- Printer Filter "foomatic-rip-hplip" for printer "oj" not available: No such file or directory ---------------------------------- What I find puzzling is that I have googled for this, and it appears there has been the same

Broadcom Wiki page - latest driver issue
Hi folks, as some of you probably know, there's been some input lately from the community in regard to the aforementioned Wiki page. I temporarily got my hands on a piece of hardware equipped with BCM4311 so I can test the latest driver - and came to a conclusion that it doesn't work at all - it does load with the dependencies, but WiFi won't activate. Now, I have an older

Suggestion for "how to" section: easy way to install the JDK?
I've read website http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaOnCentOS. I am a total newbie with CentOS, but currently, with update 21 of the Java 6 JDK and CentOS 5.5, the installing the JDK appears to be simpler: 1. Download the latest *rpm.bin jdk (as of today,jdk-6u21-linux-i586-rpm.bin) fromhttp://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp 2. chmod +x the downloaded file. 3. su 4. Execute

Re : Wiki: Howtos/Virtualization/HyperV
Hello Ozy, having used Hyper-V for about two years, ever since it was 'published' in it's pre-release version immediately after release of Windows 2008 Server, I'm very glad you found the time to write a Wiki article on the issue. I remember the time drifts in particular, and wasting two whole days troubleshooting the problem until I finally got it resolved - and at that

Wifi Driver Broadcom BCM4322 not working with Centos 7.2
Hi, I've been using in the past the broadcom wifi card BCM4322 with Centos 7.1 one in the past, with kernel 3.10.0-229.7.2.el7 and driver 6_30_223_248 and it worked well. Now I updated Centos to 7.2 and the driver is not compiling any more under kernel 3.10.0-327.3.1.el7. Neither driver 6_30_223_238 nor 6_30_223_271. Does any body experienced the same issues?
