[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc frontend 4 on intel darwin produces intel assembler
hi all,
i surely overlooked something.
but i am currently trying to do some benchmarking stuff with llvm.
in my thesis i was using llvm-1.5 (i did some extension work, which i
would have to frontport now).
But unfortunately 1.5 is for some benchmarks unstable (at least on my
box) such that llc sigsegvs sometimes, etc.
So I wanted to give 1.9 a go and build that on the my intel mac book.
I did

mactel and oracle, when?
Having searched the net, I see that oracle is not supported by rails on a mac osx Intel.
Now this may be due to the fact that Oracle is being slow to supply intel based binaries
of their drivers, but I find it odd that osx is so well supported, yet this gaping hole
exists.
I did find an ODBC driver for osx/intel that works to oracle, but of course there is no
ODBC driver for Rails that will talk

rmagick->X11 on MacTel Howto?
I needed to install rmagick/GraphicsMagick on an IntelMac and did so
from Darwinports. Some things work and others don''t work, like
rendering fonts which needs X11 fonts and X server. The rmagick page
at rubyforge points to ..
http://developer.apple.com/opensource/tools/runningx11.html
where X11 link to Apple is broken.
X11User.pkg talked about on the page above no longer exists at

[PATCH v7 0/9] drm: cec: convert DRM drivers to the new notifier API
Hi all,
The patches in this series can be applied independently from each other.
If you maintain one of these drivers and you want to merge it for v5.4
yourself, then please do so and let me know. If you prefer I commit it
to drm-misc, then please review and (hopefully) Ack the patch.
I would really like to get this in for v5.4 so I can get the userspace
bits in for v5.4 as well through the

Centos Macbook Installations
Hi
I would like to contribute to the CentOS wiki.
I've created the user RobertoNebot for accessing the centos wiki.
I would like to contribute with CentOS installation instructions for
Macbooks.
I think that the right place for this contribution would be
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops
Cheers,
Roberto Nebot.

I'm not sure that I understand.
Is there indeed such a public repository of the build scriptds / RPM
specs used by CentOS?
That would indeed be fascinating and useful

Yum segmentation fault when updating to CentOS v5.5
Hi all,
I'm getting a segmentation fault with yum when I try to update a CentOS v5.4
install to v5.5.
What I've done:
* Ran yum clean all.
* Ran yum update yum*
* Ran yum update, and got the segmentation fault.
* Yum suggested running with option --skip-broken, which I did. Still got the
segmentation fault.
* Rebooted machine and ran yum update again. Segmentation fault...

questions about upgrading
I'm pretty new to the task of upgrading CentOS or RedHat o.s.'s. I'm more familiar with upgrading Debian based o.s.'s. Here are my questions:
1) will yum ever upgrade the major version? I understand that there is no upgrade path from v5.x to v6.x, but is that always the case? e.g. was there an upgrade path from v4.x -> v5.x? If yum is capable of doing so, what are the
