document proposal: TipsAndTricks/ApacheVHostDir
I use named virtual hosts on my web servers, as I'm sure many others do. I'm used to the method of using a vhost directory for the container files. I didn't find documentation for it in the CentOS docs or the Apache docs. I'm not sure if I should take it as a hint that it is depreciated... If I've missed something, please point me to it. I've written a quick

Fwd: Wiki Contribution - YUM Tips and Tricks
Hi CentOS-Docs Team! I got distracted and didn't re-read the "contribute to the wiki" instructions before sending off a message to this list (I'm subscribed to Docs now for sure!). So my initial message hit the bit bucket 'cause I wasn't subscribed (d'oh!). http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-docs/2015-April/thread.html You'll find a copy of my original

C6.5 - combine two DVD isos into one tree?
I have the two DVD isos for CentOS 6.5 mounted as loopback, on the mount points /centos6 and /centos6a, and am trying to use them for PXE/KS installation. The problem I have is that the packages in /centos6a/Packages are not found by the installer. The host is a CentOS 5 system. Is there a way for me to overlay the second DVD on the first without having to copy all the packages from both isos

Questions on making a kickstart cfg
So I took the anaconda cfg, commented out the partition/disk pieces and ran it off my repo server and it almost worked. Little things like not including things I had done on network setup. No first boot.... :) So now I am reading up on building a kickstart cfg http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/KickStart http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/5.2/Installation_Guide/s1-kickstart2-howuse.html

I'd like to contribute two wiki articles
Hi, I've written two small howtos, and would like to contribute them to the CentOS Wiki. The first one is "How to install CentOS 5 on software partitionable mdadm RAID1", and the second one "How to repair a software mdadm RAID5 with two or more failed disks (if you know that information is still on the disks and readable)". I think that the first one should be somewhere

Has there been sufficient discussion about these pages? Am I able to rename them to move them from my directory to the TipsAndTricks directory? Or should they go to HowTos? -------------------- Ed Heron

centos.org 5 Installation_Guide-en-US/ch02s04.html#s2-steps-make-cd
There seems to be several problems in this kickstart cd document. I guess this was copied from RedHat''s documentation. Can someone please direct me or my comments to the right person? http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Installation_Guide-en-US/ch02s04.html#s2-steps-make-cd this command (in the documentation) needs a space in it: cp -r

Network Install Procedure Question
Hi there -- I wanted to do a netinstall of the 5.3 release, and the source that I had in mind was either an ftp or http site. When going through this procedure, am I going to download the .iso images from one of the mirror sites or is/are there a directory(ies) at another site(s) that I should specify as the source of the files? Thanks. The information in this e-mail is intended only for

(hoping this is the right way to submit updates for wiki pages.) from this page: http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/YumAndRPM first, there's this line: yum --disable "*" --enable "rpmforge" list available i'm guessing that should be: yum --disablerepo "*" --enablerepo "rpmforge" list available also, near the bottom (Method B):
