Best Fit line trouble with rsruby
Hello, I am using R, through rsruby, to create a graph and best fit line for a set of data points, regarding data collected in a Chemistry class. The problem is that although the graph functions perfectly properly, the best fit line will not work. I initially used code I pretty much copied from a website with a tutorial on this, which was: graphData.png("/code/Beer's-Law

R 2.8.0 for Debian etch
Dear all, It is my pleasure to announce the immediate availability of R 2.8.0 for the current Debian stable release on CRAN. Source packages and binaries for i386 and amd64 are at your disposal. I also updated the README to include a short howto for using R 2.8.0 from unstable on testing (lenny), which is currently frozen. This currently pulls the current pcre from unstable, next to the current

rJava and matrices
Hi list, I'm wanting to use a matrix as input to some java code, but I seem to be unable to do this (See code below). When searching online for a solution I found that rJava 0.5-2 (the version under development not yet in CRAN) is adding "direct support for raw vectors as method parameters". Is this related? I also tried to use .jarray / .jcast in various combinations to no avail.

Re: SOLVED: Device 0 (vif) could nto be connected: backend device not found
Hi, Thanks or all the suggestions. The problem was the lack of hotplug support! The problem was solved by a reinstall of the native linux (RHEL4) with selecting all packages. I had initially chosen some packages and I believe hotplug support was left off (don''t know which package it belonged to. I want to get the index of that character in the second column and use it to extract the item from the third column. I can do this using a scalar method. But I'm not finding a vector method. An example is below. col1 col2 col3 'L'

building rpy against lenny-cran
Hi. On all of my machines, except for a netbook cursed with the GMA500 chipset, the R packages are synced to lenny-cran. I have been using rpy in a chroot using the official lenny R packages (2.7.1) given that i have not been able to find compatible rpy deb packages to work with lenny-cran. I am able to build the rpy deb package from source in a 32-bit lenny chroot (with the stock R packages)

R plot display problem under windows when using python rpy module.
Dear list, Rpy is a python module that provides python interface to R. The following simple commands >>> from rpy import * >>> r.plot(0) is supposed to create a window that displays the result of plot(0). However, we observe that 1. Under *nix, rpy+R+python work as expected 2. Under windows, python + pythonWin32 (a python GUI provided by the pywin32 module), work as expected

python-rpy DEB broken - but hopefully easy to fix
Hi CRAN people, There is an issue with python-rpy on Ubuntu, when installed from the CRAN repository. (I read the info on http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/ and saw the note that this package is experimental but you are happy to receive feedback on it.) After adding the appropriate CRAN repo: % sudo apt-get install python-rpy [ ... installs various dependencies ... ] % echo import rpy |

Running rpy produces the error message undefined symbol: KillAllDevices
Hello All, I've been using R for a while and decided to test R from the svn trunk. I know that trunk is not stable, but I wanted to see if I can install and run the latest rpy on my Ubuntu 7.10 box. RPy
I'm curious if there are users of RPy on this list. I've recently created a gui front end using Tkinter for some python scripts I've written for some of our internal operations and I am quite pleased with how this program works. I wonder if it is possible to also get this gui to run R functions through the use of RPy. Going even a step further, I wonder if it is possible to get this
