Repository issue with R 2.8.0 in Ubuntu 8.10
Dear List,
I'm not an expert on Linux but I have been using Ubuntu and R sice two
years ago.
I've just installed Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10, Kernel:
2.6.27-7-generic) from the scratch and then installed R, following the
instruction given on:
http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README, and everything
worked fine.
However, after the installation I realized that the installed

Installing splancs_2.01-9 on Red Hat Linux 7.3
Hi all,
I'm trying to install the splancs contributed package on a Redhat 7.3
system with R 1.5.1 installed. I've installed the readline41-4.1-10 RPM
which Redhat requires for R and it works great, thanks very much.
However, when I attempt to R CMD INSTALL splancs_2.01-9.tar.gz as root,
I get the following error message during the install:

Any workaround for CRAN Mac OS X compiler switch to R 2.10.0?
Hello,
Has the CRAN compiler for Mac OS X switched to using R 2.10? I
recently uploaded an update for the package I maintain to CRAN, and
it's no longer possible to run the package after installing CRAN
binaries for this package under Mac OS X 10.5 and R 2.9.1.
The package is picante 0.7-1. It passes all checks on CRAN cleanly.
Under R 2.9.1 on Mac OS X 10.5, the package can be

stubdom does not compile on ubuntu hardy amd64 with xen 3.3
Hi List,
I get this error while compiling xen using "make world"
/opt/install/xen/xen-3.3.0/stubdom/../extras/mini-os/include/mini-os/types.h:22:20: Error: stddef.h No such file or
directory
*depending errors follow*
Really? stddef.h is located under /usr/include/linux and I even
symlinked it to /usr/include but the error still exists. (Which should
not appear as /usr/include

Re: SOLVED: stubdom does not compile on ubuntu hardy amd64 with xen 3.3
Just for the archive or in case of anybody is interested in:
The problem is the missing stddef.h which resides more than one time
on the OS.
I mistakenly thought, that there is an typo in the code, because one
of this files is in /us/include/linux so I changed
#include <stddef.h> to
#include <linux/stddef.h>
But this was wrong and it is the wrong file too.
The right file to

DomUs don''t shutdown with cpu-pinning configured
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
since pinning the cpu cores to Dom0 and the DomUs the shutdown of the
VMs doesn''t work anymore. When shutting down or rebooting a DomU the
DomU just freezes after the shutdown process but won''t reboot or stop
the DomU. The shutdown itself seems to be complete though.
We can reproduce this problem on 4 different servers.

When will there be a hardy repository for wine? Presently, I'm usingthe gutsy one and it works just fine, but I see there is a repository for each version so far, so will there be one for hardy as well?

Ubuntu DEB Packages for Hardy?
Hi,
I'm still running Ubuntu Hardy and I will upgrade when Lucid comes out. I just wish to know when the latest DEB files will come out? Wine updates seem to have stopped at wine-1.1.39.
Please support Hardy until Lucid comes out. It's still the latest LTS.

Specifically when I use the file open dialog to select the database to open I am able to navigate through the Unix directory tree down to the file, but when I request the application to open the selected file I get an error message

Hardy Weinberg Case Control Test in gap R package
Hi,
I am using the gap R package to do the Hardy Weinberg Case Control test for
many SNP. I am not sure what the values initial1 and initial2 should be for
the test. I tried values but they failed.
I emailed the author but to no avail. There seems to be some documentation
that is deleted at the top, if anyone can direct me how to get this I will
be grateful.
