LAPACK libraries improperly linked
Dear All, As suggested in the reply from Dirk Eddelbuettel to my post to R-dev I am reposting here as the problem still persists. Please see my post to R-dev under same heading for additional description if needed. (PR#9691) 'Bug'#424696: R CMD INSTALL -l <path> does not
I looked for evidence that this is supposed to happen, as it was news to me that it did on some versions of R. Possible sources of documentation seem to be R CMD INSTALL --help ?INSTALL R-intro.texi, R-exts.texi, R-admin.texi none of which mention this AFAICS, and all seem to be written assuming an existing library tree. DId you find something to suggest otherwise? Clearly no alpha/beta

Conflict between octave3.0-headers and r-base-dev
Hi, I'm using Ubuntu Hardy i386, and the R 2.7.1 Ubuntu packages from CRAN. The CRAN r-base-dev package depends on refblas3-dev or atlas3-base-dev, but octave3.0-headers depends on libblas-dev. Inaccuracy in svd() with R ubuntu package
On two laptops running 32-bit kubuntu, I have found that svd(), invoked within R 2.9.1 as supplied with the current ubuntu package, returns very incorrect results when presented with complex-valued input. Lapack or Blas crashing R when using "large" matrices (Ubuntu 11.04)

stock ubuntu raring binary R 3.0.1 and accelerated blas libraries?
dear debian-R group: I am using the stock ubuntu binary R 3.0.1 for ubuntu raring but on cinnamon mint olivia 15.
