error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U instance on CentOS 5.1 x64
Hi all This is the first time I try and get Xen working, and want to install a few CentOS 5.1 32bit and FreeBSD 6.1 VM's on my CentOS 5.1 x64 server. Trying to get the first one to install is rather trivial, and I keep on running into errors. At fist I wanted to install it fro the cdrom, so I used "virt-install --cdrom=/dev/hdc" It booted up, and I could choose my language, but

Nah, RHEL 5.1+ supports 32-bit domU (PAE and non PAE) on 64-bit dom0. GSSAPI and deny=yes passdb
Hi. Is it possible to use GSSAPI authentication and deny passdb together? Seems it doesn't work as I expect: GSSAPI doesn't check deny passdb, so I'm not able to restrict access to GSSAPI-users. I can see these in logs when user tries to connect with PLAIN authentication (via pam_krb5): Oct 4 11:14:31 vm03 auth: Debug: passwd-file(testuser,172.17.0.123): lookup: user=testuser

about: memory allocation and the balloon list
Dear all I use the command( xm mem-set ID mem ) trying to understand the memory allocation between the Dom0 and the Guests(vm), but there is still some confusion about this. As the above /proc/xen/balloon list I set xm mem-set Domain-0 128 and changing the vm memory from 256 to 128: xm mem-set vm01 128 (...from vm01 to vm08) before mem-setCurrent allocation: 427792 kB

Tutorial : Debian, Xen and CLUSTER / GFS Support
Hello there! I made Debian, Xen 2.0 and CLUSTER/GFS work together :). I wrote this little tutorial to help you setup yours. Any feedback is welcome, except comments about W3C validation of my code :p Note that I am talking about compiling CLUSTER with your XEN kernel, I don''t explain how to setup a working cluster. You can find how to setup those in official RedHat docs. You will see,

[PATCH] tools/xenstat/xentop/xentop.c -- fix xentop so it returns the correct exit code on invalid argument
This patch fixes the problem with xentop where it returns an exit code of 0 when passing it invalid options when it should return 1. The issue comes from getopt() returning ''?'' and the case from switch matching it. The solution was to remove the case ''?'' so that the default match could be triggered. Quote from `man 3 getopt` "If getopt() does not

Xen3 on Etch - Rebooting when 2nd DomU started
Hi All, Fairly new to Debian and Xen but I have a box running with lots of DomUs under Xen2 and it is fine. I have setup a new IBM eServer P4 and loaded Etch and loaded Xen3. It runs up my first DomU beautifully but when I start my second DomU it crashes the PC and reboots. If I comment out the line in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp (network-script network-bridge) It will run 2 DomUs Have I run

xentop and vcpu-list???
Hi, I have a couple of questions. on Xentop: In Xentop what does the NETS column mean. I see a NETTX and a NETRX, and i think they mean the number of network bytes transmitted and received. Also what does the VBDs number mean. Is that the number of block device IO operations? or the number of IO bytes. on vcpu-list: I expected that at any point of time a pcpu would have only 1VMID in
