CentOS server running java - won't let go of swap
I'm monitoring some CentOS 5 servers running Sun Java. We have set things
up so 2048 MB of RAM are available for the base operating system, taking
into account the xMx and permgen settings. What we're seeing is the swap
space getting used up, and not released. Is this normal behavior?
Performance doesn't seem to be affected, however I'm a bit concerned that
the swap file is

Dovecot Solr Panic
Hello Everyone,
I have a small base of users (30), but a lot of emails.
I have an error again when I am indexing a virtual folder with a large number of folders.
I appreciate this is a special case, but I am using dovecot and solr as it is, according to the documentation, the favourite way.
One user is using a large number of archives sub folders, by years, months and subfolders, since 5 years.

Specifying sub-filters
Hello everyone.
I have been looking at the filtering on Mapstraction and realized that it does not allow for sub-filters.
I have modified the applyFilter function to accommodate sub filters.
for example if I wanted to filter all houses that are blue and green and also all warehouses irrespective of color
now I can use
map.addFilter(''Type'', ''eq'', { pFilter:

rJava: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Hy,
In my case I just invoked as root (on a linux box) the command R CMD
javareconf and checked if my system and root vm did match the version of
the user vm. After this the
command .jinit(parameters=c("-Xmx512m","-Xmx128m")) could be executed
without errors. I got this information from

Solr 6.4.1
I've been running Solr for a while (4.10.3) - wanted to make the jump to
the latest & greatest. I installed 6.4.1, copied over my schema.xml -
and after a couple false starts where I needed to tweak it work with the
new version...it works! I did not copy the database, started from
scratch, and executed a "doveadm fts rescan -A". But...

Anyone successfully ran JRuby 1.5.3, Rails 3, Tomcat6
Hi,
I''ve been trying to get JRuby 1.5.3 with Rails 3 to run on the Tomcat6
server with little success.
Has anyone been able to do this? If so, what issues did you have to
overcome to get this to work?
Also, is this a combination that you would recommend for a production
site, or is it all too new and untested?
The latest issue I''m stuck on right now is with the mysql-connector-

panic fts_solr for bad attachment
Hi!
I use dovecot 2.1.7 on Ubuntu 12.10 with fts_solr und decode2text.sh for
indexing attachments. This works great in general.
Just for one user there is a problem with an unknown bad attachment.
I run "doveadm index -A '*'". After a while I receive:
doveadm(xyz): Error: fts_solr: Invalid XML input at line 1: mismatched tag

Hi all,
I am having a problem indexing one of my mailboxes using the solr fts backend in dovecot 2.1.12
For many mailboxes it works just fine, but on one mailbox I currently always get a panic.
solr setup:
Java: icedtea 6.1.11.5
Solr: 3.6.2 running in tomcat 7.0.32
Command to reproduce error: doveadm index -u my at user badmailbox
I already noticed that there have been some solr backend fixes

[LLVMdev] Potential Google Summer of Code Applicant
Actually, I'm pretty happy with the way that LLVM handles this aspect of
garbage collection now. LLVM does not itself generate any data related to
garbage collection - all it does is supply a plugin interface that lets
your code know where on the stack the roots are. Your code is responsible
for generating any static data structures that would be read by your
garbage collector. So if you

"Header is huge" in fts-solr
Hi, Timo and all!
I am trying to index mail in a test mailbox using fts_solr plugin for
full-text search. On most mailboxes, it works fine, but on some big
messages I get
warnings like the following, and then I get an Out of memory error from
Solr, then the indexer-worker process (or doveadm) crashes with "assertion
failed" error and the backtrace:
