what OS do you use for Samba?
I'm trying to decide on a linux distro to use for our enterprise Samba
server. I like that there is a deb repo for Debian from samba.org, but
I'm more comfortable with CentOS (Redhat). I just want to be sure I
have a well supported Samba server and I need at least the 3.0.20
version so I can use the "inherit owner" property. I also want
automatic updates for bugfixes and

Asterisk status in Debian
Hello,
This is a update on the current status of Asterisk in Debian.
Apologies for the really long mail, it is targetted both to users and
maintainers :)
I'm Ccing asterisk-users as a one-time thing; users that are interested
can subscribe to our list[1] for updates to prevent noise on a
non-Debian list. Please Cc pkg-voip-maintainer on replies.

AMD SVN and Xen3
So, as promised, here an first summary.
Hardware: AMD Athlon64 X2-4600+ with Asus M2N-Mainboard.
Just a short hint: By far not all memory modules work with the Asus
boards! Make sure to have compatible ones...
After 2 days of trial and error I got the following results:
Debian "Sarge" x64: Doesn''t like the new nVidia SATA-Controller (will
check today with PATA-interface)

Problem with often password prompt box (security=user)
Hi,
a while ago i had to migrate from old server on Debian Sarge to new one
on Debian Etch (amd64).
Since then, with the same config i had earlier it became a common
problem that client workstations connecting to the server have to
reauthenticate very often (at least few times a day), and the staff is
going to kill me if i dont fix this soon.
Any ideas what could be the cause/solution ?

CentOS Download Mirrors
Guys,
Is there a difference between CentOS 6.0 and centos 6 on the mirror
list? Each mirror seems to have a folder for 6.0 and 6 separately.

Samba 3.022 on Ubuntu Edgy:
I have a situation where win XP clients logon to our one and only PDC.
They access home dirs and save stuff there. They can also, for e.g add
a shortcut to their desktop.
Wierd thing is any edits to screen effects are dropped, for instance.
They also can't set the proxy server address & port in IE. A check
after they click OK shows the entry has been

Problem with absolute symbolic links
I'm trying to synchronize a particularly troublesome directory structure on a SunOS box to a PC. I really want all symbolic links resolved to real files on the PC when everything is done. I can't seem to find any combination of parameters that will accomplish this.
It boils down to two problems.
1. It seems like that even if I exclude a symbolic link that is a directory it is not

Report to a domU a change on a disk
Hello,
I have a Xen dom0 (Debian Etch running xen 3.0.3) running different
domUs. DomUs'' disks are LVM2 volumes. Now I have increased the size of
one of these LVM volumes so I have to inform to the corresponding domU
that its disk has increased its size (to resize it without unmounting
it). How can I do this?
