Failed to create a solaris DOMU using NFS root
Hello,
I''ve installed a OpenSolaris dom0 snv_44 on a x4100 server, and booted a
32-bit xen kernel.
I''m trying to create a OpenSolaris DOMU (snv_44) by following the howto
described at
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/howto/create-osox-domu/.
I did not manage to create a diskless environment by using SUNWCXall.
I''ve created SUNWCreq instead and add the

I have 6 SATA II drives accessed via the Solaris AHCI driver. I have created a ZFS file system across all 6 drives. This works fine until

Xen Kernel (3.0.2) breaks b44 module
I have a new laptop (Dell 9400) that I am trying to work with Xen 3.0.
Xen works fine, runs windows XP under HVM.
But, the Xen kernel on Dom0 has a few problems with some of the hardware.
The network card is a Broadcom 4400 10/100BaseT.
Normally loading the b44 module gives this:

nls segmented model with unknown joint points
Hello,
I am interested in fitting a segmented model with unknown joint points
in nls and perhaps eventually in nlme. I can fit this model in sas (see
below, joint points to be estimated are a41 and a41), but am unsure how
to specify this in the nlm function. I would really appreciate any
suggestions or example code. Thanks a lot. -andy

[LLVMdev] dynamic passes
In this case, you can specialize a few pass manager objects, each for a
specific sub target type.
E.g.
PassManager pm0 = .. ; // for mips32;
PassManager pm1 = .. ; // for mips16;
...
if(function needs to run on mips32)
pm0.run();
else
if(function needs to run on mips16)
pm1.run();
...
Of course, you have to figure out the suitable sets of functions for
each sub target.
Hope it helps.

Help with booting dom0 on a Dell 2950
Hi, I have installed b_78 on a Dell 2950 and booting to bare metal works fine but when I try to boot using the grub entry Solaris xVM it will boot to the point where it displays the uname info and then just stays there. It will not boot past that point. I have enabled VT technology in the BIOS (but only after the installation).
Where/what can I look at to trouble shoot this? I am new to xen and

invalid vdev configuration after power failure
What does it mean for a vdev to have an invalid configuration and how
can it be fixed or reset? As you can see, the following pool can no
longer be imported: (Note that the "last accessed by another system"
warning is because I moved these drives to my test workstation.)
~$ zpool import -f pool0
cannot import ''pool0'': invalid vdev configuration

Hi,
I have been using amanda backup for quite a long time now. I'm busy migrating some older hosts to
CentOS 7 but have found that the available amanda packages (see above) have not been compiled on a
host that has the 'dump'

SYSLINUX 3.10-pre21: ISOLINUX fixes, MEMDISK changes
I have just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.10-pre21; this fixes ISOLINUX, and
adds a fix for MEMDISK -- it so happens that running ISOLINUX under
Bochs triggers a bug with similar behaviour as I've seen reported on
here, so I'm *hoping* this might fix the "doesn't work without harddisk"
problem and perhaps the IBM/USB problem some people have been reporting.
Again, I really want

dmu_zfetch_find - lock contention?
Hi,
I have a mysql instance which if I point more load towards it it suddenly gets 100% in SYS as shown below. It can work fine for an hour but eventually it gets to a jump from 5-15% of CPU utilization to 100% in SYS as show in mpstat output below:

Unbootable system recovery
I have just recently (physically) moved a system with 16 hard drives (for the array) and 1 OS drive; and in doing so, I needed to pull out the 16 drives so that it would be light enough for me to lift.
When I plugged the drives back in, initially, it went into a panic-reboot loop. After doing some digging, I deleted the file /etc/zfs/zpool.cache.
When I try to import the pool using the zpool

Extremely slow zpool scrub performance
Running a zpool scrub on our production pool is showing a scrub rate
of about 400K/s. (When this pool was first set up we saw rates in the
MB/s range during a scrub).
Both zpool iostat and an iostat -Xn show lots of idle disk times, no
above average service times, no abnormally high busy percentages.
Load on the box is .59.

Hardware RAID vs. ZFS RAID
Hello,
I have a Dell 2950 with a Perc 5/i, two 300GB 15K SAS drives in a RAID0 array. I am considering going to ZFS and I would like to get some feedback about which situation would yield the highest performance: using the Perc 5/i to provide a hardware RAID0 that is presented as a single volume to OpenSolaris, or using the drives separately and creating the RAID0 with OpenSolaris and ZFS? Multiple NICs on Asterisk box
Hi All,
Long time no chat ;-)
Asterisk 1.0.9 (sometimes) won't authenticate IAX phones after re-boot
of SuSE 9.3 box
I've traced the problem to be with the firewall and the fact that I have
2 NICs in the box. Now that I have opened port 4569 on both interfaces,
asterisk seems happy *but* does anyone know how to force SuSE 9.3 to
always bring up a specific NIC before the otherone?

mount time of multi-disk arrays
Hello List,
can anyone tell me how much time is acceptable and assumable for a
multi-disk btrfs array with classical hard disk drives to mount?
I'm having a bit of trouble with my current systemd setup, because it
couldn't mount my btrfs raid anymore after adding the 5th drive. With
the 4 drive setup it failed to mount once in a few times. Now it fails
everytime because the default

more features are supported, but it looks like I can't wait till then,
