snmp mrtg physCPU
Hallo xenusers,
I search a simple variant to generate CPU,Load for MRTG.
Actually I use following configuration.
But I see CPU-usage of xen0 only, not a summary of all VM.
- net-snmp does not support xen [1].
- dtc-xen [2] show CPU-usage from each VM, but not summary.
This view is confusing. [3]
For monitorings from more than 3 physical machines unpractically.
- enomalism [4] is too large

Web tool for management xen DomainUs ?
Hi!
I like to allow to several DomainUs admins to admin his virtual servers
with a web
interface, without contact with Domain0. This tool must be opensource,
and allow shutdown, reboot and see the logs with a web user / pw.
Perhaps too the memory, CPU, ,,, of the virtual server.
Are there any tool some this?
Any pointer will be welcomed.

Installing 3.2.1 on Debian Etch
Hi,
I have been testing XenServer 4.1 and I have migrated to Xen 3.2.1 due
to the lack of PCI passthrough in Citrix XenServer.
I''ve spent 6 hours this evening installing backports packages and/or
compiling the source in a fresh Debian Etch install. But still my DomU
is crashing. I suspect I have too many versions floating around now so
I will try again from scratch. What is the simplest

Web based management console with integrated Java VNC Viewer
I''m making use of the Java tightvnc client to get access to domU HVM
console''s. Are there any web based management consoles that integrate
such a feature automagically?
As far as I can tell, enomalism doesn''t...
Failing that, does anyone have any example code (python would be nice)
to return a list of running domains and what port their VNC is listening
on?
Thanks

Managing multiple Dom0''s
Are there people currently managing multiple Dom0''s and making
significant use of migration?
I''m loking at a potential setup of 16 or so physical systems with
perhaps 64 or so virtual systems (DomU''s I suppose Dom0 is also a
virtual system if I understand thing correctly, but that''s no twhat I
mean here).
It seems to me that making heavy use of migration for

Red Hat commercial support for CentOS/Fedora
Someone told me that if you have a CentOS or Fedora server, you can pay a
Red Hat yearly fee and get them to support it (because the environments are
so similar).
Can anyone here substantiate this claim?

C8 - Register with Red Hat
Everyone,
I am still in the low end of the learning curve with Centos 8, and keep getting warning
messages to register with Red Hat. Is this a requirement for C8. I do not have a user ID
with Red Hat; will they give a user ID for a Centos user.
"This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use
subscription-manager to register."
Thanks,

Solaris 8/9 branded zones on ZFS root?
Hi all,
I have a situation where I need to consolidate a few servers running
Solaris 9 and 8. If the application doesn''t run natively on Solaris
10 or Nevada, I was thinking of using Solars 9 or 8 branded zones.
My intent would be for the global zone to use ZFS boot/root; would I
be correct in thinking that this will be OK for the branded zones?
That is, they don''t care about

is Intel VT-d "really" necessary?
Hi all,
I'm just curios and would like some input from the community on this
one. We're busy budgeting for a couple of new servers and I thought it
would be good to try out the Core i7 CPU's, but see the majority of
them don't offer VT-d, but just VT-x. Looking at the LGA1366 range,
only the "Intel lga1366 i7 980XE" (from the list of what our suppliers
stock) have VT-d,
