apply function returning different results
For some reason when I apply a function to a single row in R it works, but when that same row is in a data.frame it does not, see below: apply(dx[954,], 1, query.db) 2571 1092 0.06044147 3890 0.05948577 3273 0.05911261 794 0.05855583 4241 0.05854064 3560 0.05602690 apply(dx[954:955,], 1, query.db) $`2571` numeric(0) $`1194` 908 3754 5119 2835

Dovecot and SATA Backend
Hi all, I plan to run a dovecot IMAPS and POPS service on our network. We handle about 3 000 mailboxes. I thought first buying a topnotch server (8 cores and 16 Go RAM) with equalogic iSCSI SAN SAS 15K for storage backend. On second though (and after a comprhensive read of dovecot features), I saw in http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation that index files can be created on a separete local

firefox and IronPort
A couple of weeks ago, I got an autogenerated email from the mail folks here, telling me they'd quarantined what they thought was spam. The last time I got one of these was a month or month and a half ago, and I had no problem. This time, however, I get a 500 error. When I pulled up firefox's error console, and clicked on the link, I got <servername elided>: server does not support

WSAStartup failure
Hi, I added the Windows::WSA module to windows-pr recently (it''s in the latest git repo). However, I can''t seem to make WSAStartup work. I tried the following bit of code, only to get "The Windows Sockets version requested is not supported" on my Vista box. Is it really not supported on Vista? The docs say Win2k or later. Or is there another issue? require

[Fwd: Re: [R-downunder] Beware unclass(factor)] (PR#9641)
It really is unclear what is claimed to be a bug here. But see https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2007-May/045592.html for why the bug is not in R: your old and new data do not match. Your fit is to a category. [The problem with the web interface to R-bugs was reported last week: it is being worked on.] On Mon, 30 Apr 2007, r.darnell at uq.edu.au wrote: > This is a multi-part

Problems completely reading in a "large" sized data set
I have been through the help file archives a number of times, and still cannot figure out what is wrong. I have a tab-delimited text file. 76Mb, so while it's large.. it's not -that- large. I'm running Win7 x64 w/4G RAM and R 2.10.1 When I open this data in Excel, i have 27 rows and 450932 rows, excluding the first row containing variable names. I am trying to get this into R as a

is there a problem with FXList findItemByData(....) ??????
Hi, I am tackling with FXList ( ruby 1.8.4 (2005-12-24) [i386-mswin32]) ) . The ''data'' value is a MDIChild reference afxlist.findItemByData(sender) => return -1 . Always I can turn around it by doing .......... cpt = 0 ; idx=nil afxlist.each do |lista| if lista.data == sender idx=cpt break
