StatET & Sweave cannot compile pdf files
I am new to R, Sweave, and LaTeX. I am running StatET with Eclipse 3.7
on a Windows
7 x64 OS. StatET also includes the Sweave add-on, which I use to try and
compile a PDF document.
I also installed MiKTeX 2.9, because, previously, R could not execute texi2dvi
(presumably, because there was no TeX runner). Basically, no .tex file could
be compiled into PDF file. After I installed MiKTeX, I was

gunzip being present doesn't usually mean that zlib is present,
but you might actually have zlib. Look for a libz.a in
/usr/local/lib (or appropriate other directory structure
depending on where gunzip is on your system...)

Disabling Password-based auth? (was RE: recent breakins)
Crap. I hit send too fast. Last sentence in
first paragraph should have read "no completely
secure way" for authentication to be passed--
because the agent-based forwarding program
could have been compromised as well--except for
the cases already mentioned such as SRP and
RSAAuth where the auth. information is better
protected.
Even if the SF server had been capable of forwarding

Problems compiling OpenSSH [no version info] on HP-UX 10.20 was: (no subject)
Aloha Jiwen (I used to get kama'aina discounts, but
no longer)--
First, you didn't tell us what OpenSSH source code
version you're trying to compile. Without that info
there are any number of possible problems--so I'll
assume (for now) that you're using the latest
released portable version of OpenSSH. Please
reply with specific version info.

Disabling Password-based auth? (was RE: recent breakins)
All--
But it's not as simple as forwarding the password-based
authentication. Regardless of what method was used to
SSH from system one (user's) to system two (SF), the
user then started up *a second* SSH session to go
from two (SF) to three (Apache). There is no effective
way for any authentication information from the first
session to be passed to the second, in my mind.

Dovecot/MSQL issue
Hello, I'm trying to work through an issue that cropped up on a server I've
been working on and haven't found a very good workaround.
Dovecot is operating in a jailed environment.
The configuration in dovecot-sql.conf.ext has been set appropriately with
the host=127.0.0.1 (which works from a jailed environment) and when dovecot
attempts to auth it appears to perform a reverse dns

Dovecot/MSQL issue
Actually, it seems I may have been wrong in initial assumption that the
issue with the client was that it was being identified to mysql as coming
from localhost when connecting via tcp.
This is what syslog indicated as a reason for the failure but its not the
whole picture.
As John mentioned I am trying to have dovecot connect over TCP to mysql
(not using the socket), and the issue looked like

[PATCH]: Workaround a security leak on Windows
The attached patch should solve the following problem:
ssh-agent creates a temporary directory under /tmp with '600'
permissions. The actual socket file is created in that dir using
the default umask. That's no problem in U*X systems since nobody
but the owner of the directory can read the socket file.
Unfortunately, Windows has a user privilege called "Bypass traverse

You stated that you consider it "a poor choice
of permissions" to install the ssh binary as
mode 0711. Since it will run perfectly with
even more restrictive permissions (we typically
install it mode 0511 here), what is

Is chain loading EFI apps not supported?
Greetings!
If I understand everything correctly, the last release of syslinux
supports UEFI, but it can't load another EFI application in this mode, so
practically only linux kernel can be bootloaded. Unfortunately, I have a
need to dualboot windows and linux with UEFI, and this holds me back from
using this amazing piece of software.
Have there since been any progress regarding this
