Capistrano: Skipping require of dynamic string
Hi all,
I am starting out to play with capistrano. I installed the capistrano
gem, and I got some messages. I am not sure if these are errors,
warnings or just status messages.I hope someone here can help me
understand these messages, so that I don''t suspect Capistrano
installation if I run into issues further down. :-)

Capistrano setup fails
I can''t get past the setup step in Capistrano. I know the paths are
correct and I''m using zsh locally (bash on remote), so the shell
shouldn''t be a problem. It never asks for the SSH password, even. Any
help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

acts_as_taggable_on environment issues
Like most people, I''ve got two machines: one for development and one
for production. I''ve done everything I can to make sure the ruby/rails
environments are the same, but of course they''re not identical (I''ll
get into that in a moment). The error that I''m getting happens when I
call a method in a background task controller on the production
machine; I

uninitialized constant ActiveSupport::Cache (NameError)
Hi
After having updated some GEMS I get `load_missing_constant'':
uninitialized constant ActiveSupport::Cache (NameError) on starting
the server of a freshly generated rails project.
Before, I already had Rails 2.3.2 projects succesfully running, now
all of them generate this error.
These are my GEMS:

index.erb vs rhtml
I am a total Ruby/RoR n00b having just started reading the ''Ruby on
Rails Bible'' book two days ago. I''ve been trying to work out through
the introductory ''Your first ruby on rails application'' section, but
I''ve run into problems already!
The book goes on about creating the view templates and naming them
with the *.html.erb extension, but I get

method redefined errors from many core ruby libs
I have a Fedora Core 6 system on which I have built ruby 1.8.6 and
rubygems 1.1.1 from source, and installed rails 2.0.2 using rubygems.
When I create a new rails app, I get lots of errors that look like
they''re coming from internal ruby libraries. Lots of methods
redefined, as if I have some duplicate code somewhere. I also get
errors when generating a simple model (see below.)

I''m playing with the mongrel clustering, and am having a problem getting 2
mongrels to start up reliably.
This should be a pretty simple cluster, with just 2 instances running. My
mongrel config (mongrel_cluster.yml) looks like:
cwd: /deployment/installed/myapp/current
log_file: log/mongrel.log
port: "8000"

Capistrano - freezes & I don''t get prompted for password??
Hi,
Just having a problem trying to get capistrano working to the remote
server. I''ve set things up per the below to links, but when I enter
"cap setup" (or "rake remote:exec ACTION=setup" - I assume they are the
same) then things FREEZE and it never asks me for a password. I have to
kill the "cmd" window.
Is there a way to get some level of trace or

Needle + Rails - IoC
Hi,
I''m looking for past efforts to integrate Rails and Needle. I am
thinking of doing it myself but would be interested in seeing what
others have done before.
If there are examples of other IoC frameworks being used with Ruby I''d
be interested in hearing about them too. I find IoC to be a helpful
concept in general and, having glanced at a few existing Rails app.s, I

Prototype.js: Is there an "in_array"-like function?
Hi
i was wondering if there is a quick way to search for a item within an
array. Here is my approach for this functionality. It''s an prototype
for an Array method called "has":
Array.prototype.has = function(needle) {
for (var i=0;i<this.length;i++) {
if(this[i] == needle){ return true; }
}
return false;
}

Btw, what are the error messages for these?

memmem broken?
We have a bad bug in udev if compiled with klibc. I seems that the needle
string can't have a strlen of 1. This test case illustrates it:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
int main(int argc, char *argv[], char *envp[])
{
char *hay = "a/b";
char *needle = "/";
if (memmem(hay, strlen(hay), needle, strlen(needle)) == NULL)
