Freeze with 2.6.32.19 and xen-4.0.1rc5
Hi, i have big trouble with a Debian Lenny dom0 and latest kernel 2.6.32.19 with xen-4.0.1rc5. Due some reason the system freezes from time to time. I used kernel 2.6.31.9 with xen-3.4.2 before. The machine doesn''t write anything to serial console so there are no errors or something like that. Perhaps there is something to see from the logs ... Hardware Board: Intel DQ45CB CPU:

[PATCH 0 of 4] aio event fd support to blktap2
Get blktap2 running on pvops. This mainly adds eventfd support to the userland code. Based on some prior cleanup to tapdisk-queue and the server object. We had most of that in XenServer for a while, so I kept it stacked. 1. Clean up IPC and AIO init in tapdisk-server. [I think tapdisk-ipc in blktap2 is basically obsolete. Pending a later patch to remove it?] 2. Split tapdisk-queue into

blktap2: help please?
Hi guys, i''ve just installed xen 4.0. Since always blktapctl has never worked on my dell 1950III. I even posted a bug but so far i can''t use tap:aio or similar. I thought that with version 4 this would work, but it didn''t. I still see syslog errors from blktap version 1.0.0. Today i wanted to try version 2 I found on the xen/tools source folder. I compiled the source

BLKTAPCTRL[2375]: blktapctrl_linux.c:86: blktap0 open failed
I''m getting this message (subject line) in daemon.log every time I start or restart xend. I''m not sure if this is related to the fact that I cannot boot up my Windows domU from a VHD file. The Windows domU was working fine with Xen 4.0.0 (with 2.6.32.14 dom0 kernel). When I upgraded to Xen 4.0.1-rc4 (with 2.6.32.16 dom0 kernel), I can no long boot the Windows domU from VHD. The

Scrubbing free ram
Hi everyone, I am working on a project whose goal is evaluating the performance of the vTPM Manager. For this project I am using Xen 4.1, Kernel 2.6.31.13 with Fedora11. I I finished all installation and configuration parts. Now I need to boot the system with Xen but while booting, it is freezing at the step "scrubbing free ram". What can be cause this problem and how can I figure it

snapshots on xen
Hi all. I''m using sles11 for my xen servers. I would really like to be able to do hot snapshots of disk AND memory, and then have these snapshots backed up to tape or off site for disaster recovery. I''m thinking this would be done weekly or monthly, not nightly. Two questions: 1) Is this even possible? 2) I could probably have the systems shutdown to make a clean backups, but

Remus blktap2 issue
Hello, I have been playing around with Remus on Xen 4.0.1, attempting to fail-over for an HVM domU. I''ve run into some problems that I think could be related to tapdisk2 and its interaction with how one sets up Remus disk replication in the domU config file. A few things I''ve noticed: -The tap:remus:backupHostIP:port|aio:imagePath notation does not work for me, although this

Xen4 / Intel DX58SO Mobo / VT-d not working
Hello, I''ve previously been successful with Xen4 and VT-d on other systems. I am having trouble getting VT-d passthrough working to a WinXP domain with DX58SO (Q45) motherboard and i7 930 CPU. VT-d is enabled in bios, xm info shows hvm_directio capability, I have iommu=1 set, I have the devices bound to pciback on dom0 cmdline, xm pci-list-assignable-devices shows the devices as

Problem: Pattern with vertical colored lines on the dom0 screen
Hi list, I have a problem with a new laptop (reproducable on other machines too) and the xen hypervisor. When the hypervisor gets booted with VESA mode 800x600 I see some messages and then the screen contents is switched into a pattern of vertical colored lines and never comes back. In text mode all works well, but later the pattern appears when the X servers starts. I disabled VTd in the bios

OpenSuSE 11.2 bug, dom0-cpus limit causes xenwatch_cb running 100% and xm command freeze and xend dead
Hi all, I have upgraded a test machine from OpenSuSE 11.1 to 11.2.
