Sorting and getting occurrences of search in hit
Is there any way you could get the number of occurrences of the search in one hit? In a result I get the ferret_rank and ferret_score but not how many hits the search generated in the current record. I would also like to be able to sort after this when I search. /mattias -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

acts_as_paranoid and Association Extensions (has_one troubles)
Hi... Isn''t there a proper way or hack/workaround for the following? * For the example with unfortunate disabilities.. look below,,, Usage of has_* (associationmethods) do {def with_deleted AccociatedModel#with_scope} {Paranoid''s#find_with_deleted}... The has_one associations give me a nil object when invoking it with Model.association_OBJECT.with_deleted. Has_many does like

Polymorphic associations and single table inheritance
Running into an interesting problem that at first glance appears to be a bug in the AR association code. However, it''s explicitly coded this way so I''m not so sure. I have some code like this: class Address < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :addressable, :polymorphic => true end class Person < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :addresses, :as => :addressable,

rebuild_index fails on some models using aaf
I''ve been running the super latest AAF plugin with a mongrel cluster/ferret_server combo smoothly for a few days in production mode, indexing 4 models with no surprises. Only now when I try including some new Models to be indexed, the ferret_server fails to index with ferret server error undefined method `_'' for Summary:Class (it creates the dir on index/production, tho) and

Double work at Model.rebuild_index
I''m noting that every time I run Model.rebuild_index its running twice the rebuild_index. Also, on ferret_index.log there is only one small difference from the first and second time, see: First time it shows: rebuild index: [] reindexing model User After it finishes, it automatically starts the second time and shows; rebuild index: [["User"]] reindexing model User The full

Ferret failing to rebuild_index - occasionally unable to delete a file (_j.cfs)
I''m switching all my fulltext searching over to ferret using the acts_as_ferret plugin on windows (for development, will be deployed on linux). In my tests I have a setup method as follows to ensure the index is reset for each test: def setup Item.rebuild_index end This works fine for the initial few tests but then suddenly fails for the last few tests when it seems to be

rebuild_index is returning {}
Previously when I used to build index i used to get false in return. >> Event.rebuild_index => false Now I get this. >> Event.rebuild_index => {} Following changes took place. 1) I moved my app from FCGI to mongrel. 2) I moved my app to capistrano. Before moving to capistrano the code was acts_as_ferret :fields => [ "name", "desc_uf" ] Now the code

[AAF] acts_as_ferret 0.4.0 released
Hi folks! Just wanted to let you know that I released aaf 0.4.0 on last weekend. Besides the DRb server it also includes a new lazy loading feature that lets you do ferret searches without actually loading any records from the DB. Useful e.g. for live searches: model: class MyModel acts_as_ferret :fields => { :title => { :store => :yes }, :content => {} } end controller:

Polymorphic Validations
Hi Everyone, Ran into an interesting case last night, and I was hoping that someone on the list here could give me some guidance. I''ve got a Polymorphic association for Addresses (which can belong to two different models). The catch is, one model requires a strict, precise address, and the other only requires a City, State and Postal Code. I want to use :validates_presence_of :street,
