2.6.31 xenified kernel - not ready for production
Hi, I just want to know if somebody use 2.6.31.4 xenified kernel (aka OpenSUSE) in production? We have been testing it on new Nehalem Xeon server for few weeks w/o any problem. But as soon we tried it on production machine - after several production domUs started - hard OS failure. We had to switch back to 2.6.18.8 - xen stock kernel. vmx_update_guest_cr() losing EXCEPTION_BITMAP setting
Running a heavily modified xen-unstable changset 19590:f80cf52a4fb6 with debugger_attached set, I was seeing the debug traps getting lost from the EXCEPTION_BITMAP in vmx_update_guest_cr() when transitioning from real to protected mode. In my codebase, I could fix this trivially by clearing the debug_state_latch and letting vmx_do_resume() reapply the setting. However, while it looks like a valid

VIRQ_CON_RING
Is there any real user for this vIRQ? I''m asking because, while debugging a problem that required to add some printk()s that could temporarily issue at a high rate, I ran into the situation that this extra output prevented guest/dom0 boot from making any progress. As I then realized this was due to the tasklet_schedule() called from inside the console handling code, which resulted in

Re: Changeset 19594 for Xen 3.4 build on Ubuntu Server 9.04 causes pygrub doesn''t return any data anymore
Yes, build issue has been resolved perfectly by Changeset 19594. PATCH: Hugepage support for Domains booting with 4KB pages
We have implemented hugepage support for guests in following manner In our implementation we added a parameter hugepage_num which is specified in the config file of the DomU. It is the number of hugepages that the guest is guaranteed to receive whenever the kernel asks for hugepage by using its boot time parameter or reserving after booting (eg. Using echo XX > /proc/sys/vm/nr_hugepages).

XEN 4.0.1 + pv_ops Kernel + CentOS 5.5 x86_64, is there an easier way.
Hi As you may''ve seen from my last posts I''m struggling to get the setup on my subject line to work without flaws. I''ve tried compiling the Kernel from Source, I''ve also tried Fedora 14, which has a flaky pv_ops Dom0 kernel which DOESN''T work at all, but none of these seem to work. I''m a mid-time XEN user, I just love it and want to stay
