[PATCH] make all performance counter per-cpu
.. avoiding the need to update them with atomic (locked) ops. Conversion here isn''t complete in the sense that many places still use the old per-CPU accessors (which are now redundant). Since the patch is already rather big, I''d prefer replacing those in a subsequent patch. While doing this, I also converted x86''s multicall macros to no longer require inclusion of

Xen package security updates for jessie 4.4, XSA-213, XSA-214
Moritz Muehlenhoff writes ("Re: Xen package security updates for jessie 4.4, XSA-213, XSA-214"): > Yes, the distribution line should be jessie-security, but please send > a debdiff to team at security.debian.org for a quick review before > uploading (I have no idea whether dgit supports security-master). Here is the proposed debdiff (actually, a git diff) for xen in jessie. My

problems getting xen going on FC4
I am tasked with installing xen on a FC4 machine. I went ahead and followed the fedora xen howto, however when I rebootrd into the dom0 kernel I would get a page full of hda: lost interrupt followed by a blank screen. I then decided to remove all that and go with a xen-testing from source build. Now when I do "make tools" in the -testing directory I get: [...] In file included from

[PATCH 00/10] REVIEW: Xen patches for 2.6.24
This is my current set of updates to Xen for 2.6.24. This is largely a bugfix set, and a couple of them are also relevent to 2.6.23. These are in the pre-x86 merge form; I'll update them once the merge goes into git. Quick overview: - remove some dead code in arch/i386/mm/init.c - clean up some duplicate includes - when sending an IPI, yield the vcpu if the destination doesn't have

[PATCH 00/23] ia64/xen domU take 6
Hi. This patchset implements ia64/xen domU support based on ia64/pv_ops frame work which was sent as another patchest. Changes from take 5 are rebased to Linux 2.6.26-rc3, bug fix ivt.S paravirtualization and multi entry point support. I believe these patches can be applied to the linux ia64 repository. This patchset does the followings. - Some preparation work. Mainly importing header files to

[PATCH 0 of 4] mm+paravirt+xen: add pte read-modify-write abstraction
Hi all, This little series adds a new transaction-like abstraction for doing RMW updates to a pte, hooks it into paravirt_ops, and then makes use of it in Xen. The basic problem is that mprotect is very slow under Xen (up to 50x slower than native), primarily because of the ptent = ptep_get_and_clear(mm, addr, pte); ptent = pte_modify(ptent, newprot); /* ... */ set_pte_at(mm, addr, pte,

ARM build with v3.7-rc3 with CONFIG_XEN_GNTDEV=m
Hey Stefano, I setup a cross ARM build system so that the generic changes won''t cause build issues on ARM (and actually caught a bug with fallback.o being enabled there - I''ve a fix for that). But more interestingly the build system I do also makes a variations of config entries. So there is the allmodules, allyes, allyes, but all Xen drivers are modules, etc. I found out that

Problems calling HVMOP_flush_tlbs
Hello xen-devel, I am using xen 4.2.1 and have tried the following with kernel 3.0.0 and 3.2.1. I am trying to invoke the HVMOP_flush_tlbs hypercall but have been unsuccessful. I am basing my call on the functions in in xc_misc.c, trying to guess what is meant by "@arg must be null" in the comment where HVMOP_flush_tlbs is defined. What is the correct way to invoke this
